25.01.2022 We got the roof on today, wind didn't pick up too much! Short day tomorrow, to finish off flashing! Had a few observers all day!!!

25.01.2022 Big posts, require big saws!!! 250mm250mm hardwood, 2.7m long! CAUTION: language warning at the end!!!

24.01.2022 Some days are just dustier than others! Replacing this wall wasn't on the to-do list, untill the wallpaper tore & the batterens & lime render was flapping in the breeze, even the eaten out floor joist ended up on the list! This is a good example of the "Extras" bill, or unforseen damage when renovating! Termites have been long gorn, but can do massive amounts of damage & not be found till years later!

21.01.2022 Lil' extension to a holiday hut at Laguna, about 10kms south of Wollombi! No phone reception, ol wireless radio barely gets any reception!!!

07.01.2022 Decking board set out! I space the boards to work a full board against the deweling. If a rip is unavoidable, I aim for no less than a 3/4 board! Any smaller & it looks like a stuff up!

04.01.2022 Yesterday's work. The strength of the roof frame! Don't look like much was done, but was fiddely & at heights!

03.01.2022 Contracting to MJr Building & Constructions. Working on the ridge & rafters by myself today, ridge is 12m long 3.9m off the slab, used muscles I haven't used in a while, bit tight now!!! Had to use a 'winged keel' to stop the ridge from rolling as I lifted it in to place! Waiting on the rest of the rafters to show up Monday, to finish off roof frame!

02.01.2022 Little spa deck completed for MJr last week, will look once the stainless handrail goes in & painting finished! Little details like curving the boards around the corners make a massive difference!

02.01.2022 Bit of a cool start this morning, good effort working out, cutting & erecting ridge & rafters! Apex of ride is 5m off slab!

01.01.2022 Gutting the ceiling out today. The only thing holding the old horse hair plaster up was the timber beams, one big section let go with out notice! Where there's a will, there's a way! I 'will' find a 'way' when working solo!!!
