23.01.2022 Latest news - the Victoria Government has quietly passed the Plumbing Regulations 2018 without actually notifying interested parties. The new regulations will have significant impacts on the Victorian fire protection industry, and will come into effect on 19 November 2018. The key change is that individuals employed to conduct routine service on fire hydrant systems and fire hose reel systems, compliant with AS 1851, will now be required to hold a plumbing registration. That means us.So disappointed in FPA Australia and AFSPAB. We are paid up members of both associations and NEITHER notified us to advise of these changes. Watch this space for us fighting back ( in a nice way of course). This might be on the news tonight. It really is that important.

21.01.2022 The installation of fire safety equipment at your premises may be required by law, but there is little point in having the equipment at all if it is not looked after and kept accessible on a day-to-day basis. Keep in mind the following: Fire Hydrants: These must be accessible to Fire Service personnel and vehicles at all times and be free of obstructions. Portable Extinguishers: Ensure these can be easily located, are able to be easily removed from their mountings or cabinets and the operating instructions are not missing or unreadable. Fire Doors: Doors must be kept free of obstruction on both sides and those set to close automatically when a detector is activated or power is lost, should be tested regularly. Attention to these important details may save lives.

15.01.2022 Well we seem to have had our email hacked. That is disturbing - a lot. It seems I am sending an invoice to everyone in our contact list. But not to worry Telstra is on the case and really seem to know what they are doing. Four hours down and I am now waiting for the Escalation Team to ring me.
