24.01.2022 The Chandler Arena (at Sleeman Sports Complex) has recorded a confirmed case of COVID-19. The patron attended Chandler Arena on Sunday 26 July and it is understood that access was limited to the Arena and Car Park 2. Venue staff are working with health officials and following all necessary protocols to provide contact information for anyone who was at the venue, who will then be contacted directly by Queensland Health.... While transmission to anyone outside Chandler Arena is unlikely, anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 is encouraged to get tested. This advice potentially impacts members of BSM who attended the BSM Training session on Sunday, 26 July 2020 (0815 to 1030). See https://www.sleemansports.com.au/ All BSM training sessions at least to Wednesday, 5 August 2020 at Chandler have been cancelled.

23.01.2022 The Brisbane Southside Masters Swim Meet scheduled for 13 June 2020 has been cancelled due to the threat of COVID-19. This is unfortunate for BSM and Masters swimming generally but in the current environment we had little alternative. We wish all of our fellow Masters swimmers well.

14.01.2022 Vale Lawrie Baker It is with great sadness that I have to tell the Masters Swimming Community that Lawrie Baker has passed away after a lengthy illness. Lawrie was a Life Member and Past President of Brisbane Southside and a wonderful ambassador of our Club. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Louann, also a member of BSM, and family. He will be remembered with great fondness and deeply missed by all.

12.01.2022 Many happy faces at BSMs AGM on Monday. Having had to postpone it since March due to COVID it is great to get it done. Many thanks to our last Management Committee and a Big Welcome to the 20/21 Committee. Looking forward to a great year ahead despite all the restrictions. Ps We easily reached our Quorum thanks to all members of our great Club!!

05.01.2022 2019 Australian Masters Games wash up: Lorraine, 4 Gold Youyou, 1 Silver 3 Bronze Lance, 2 Gold 6 Silver 2 Bronze ... Lance set a new Queensland State Record (to be ratified) for the SC 200 Freestyle 65-69 with a time 2.28.49 slashing 4 secs from the previous record which has stood since 2002. Congratulations Lorraine, Youyou and Lance, a terrific trio, you have done BSM proud!!!
