Listen to your body pain is a warning signal. Stop or adapt. 5. Rest when needed Donts: 1. Avoid rounding, bending and twisting exercises which reverse the lumbar curve. 2. No toe-touching or twisting movements. 3. Do not repeat movements too much or perform them with force. 4. No sit-ups or lying on the back and raising both legs without bending them. BSR does not attempt to straighten abnormal curves in the spine, however the whole sp...ine is tested for stored tension, whether above, below or within the deviation. It is then up to the body to use the improved nerve communication and muscle tone to resort normal posture. 9-year old *Clara suffered from Scoliosis. 23.01.2022 Another #FeelGoodFridayStory from BSR SA: *Leonard, aged 52, had long-term, severe lower-back and left leg pain. After his first BSR session his coccyx was burn...ing and the leg pain was worse. Over the next month he experienced good and bad days, while the pain decreased to some extent. However, he decided that he would prefer a quicker solution through spinal surgery which his orthopaedic surgeon had suggested months before. The surgery was booked. At the pre-op check the day before, the surgeon informed Leonard that surgery was out of the question and demanded to know what on earth he had been doing to be so improved. When told about BSR the surgeon advised him to keep it up. Soon after that he was able to drive again. After eight more BSR sessions, eight months later, Leonard was fit and pain-free, and once again able to enjoy his favourite activities hiking and cycling. 20.01.2022 Our #FeelGoodFriday Story this week, used to be a fainting mystery! For two years a girl of eighteen had been experiencing a frightening condition - she fainted... three times a week for no apparent reason and remained unconscious for hours. She had a history of six whiplash accidents, but medical tests showed nothing. The BSR tests revealed intense pressure in the neck, which had been aggravated by two habits bending over to brush her long hair and studying while lying on her stomach. 20.01.2022 THE CONSEQUENCES OF BODY STRESS When the point of overload is reached, stress may become locked into the body and manifests as lines of tension. When tension ...becomes stored in a physical structure, the tissue is compressed, causing irritation of nerves. Internal organs may stop functioning optimally as a result of disrupted nerve pathways, which may result in discomfort, pain, illness, medical conditions or continuously feeling listless and tired. 19.01.2022 Did you know that Body Stress may effect fertility? Body stress may be present at any area of the spine, thereby effecting all areas of body functioning but when it comes to fertility it makes sense to highlight the effects of body stress specific to the lower spine. As the nerve connections extend to the internal organs, any irritation to the spinal nerves of the lower back may result in back pain or disruption along the nerve pathways into the abdomen, colon, ovaries, uterus, groin, hips, legs or feet. While body stress remains stored in the lower back, the irritation to the nerves may undermine or disturb the normal functioning of the areas and organs they supply. 18.01.2022 Update from BSR Outreach June Nichols Cerebral Palsy School in Vanderbijlpark. As told by Celeste Mahne and Marti Steyn: "One of the most beautiful cases we ha...ve seen is a young boy who has always been edgy and agitated and is known for pinching and scratching, but now once we place him on the bed, he calms completely and suckles his thumb. Previously it was necessary for a helper to assist with keeping his hands busy. Now he is just quiet, and content. Our one little lady whom we have never managed to work on before, because of the fact that she doesn't want to lie down and will only stand still for seconds on end, has for the first time allowed me to complete a range of releases while standing. After the release, both her arms and hands relaxed and she was calm and relaxed. She is on the autism spectrum and it has been a real pleasure for us. Where we normally run after her to get her to her class, we walked back slowly. A little boy who used to be non verbal and mostly sitting quietly in his classroom, is now a very active, busy, running around and very talkative someone. From the moment we arrive, we can hear him at the door looking for the Tannies! What an absolute blessing to be able to work with these children. Each and everyone is so very special, and we look forward to the sessions more than what we ever knew possible. From when we started, to now, to have the children be happy and excited to see us and want to show us their school work and update us on little details of their lives is just the best part of our week. 12.01.2022 THE BSR CONSULTATION The Practitioner will take a clear case history before doing the initial body stress assessment. Once the sites of stress have been mapped ...out and located, the practitioner performs a series of releases. This is done with a thumb or finger with a slight pressure or impulse. A lot of the children rep...orted having less pain, feeling lighter, sleeping well and some even reported having a little pain in areas where they didn't have pain before. 05.01.2022 Say hello to Coreen Toth, our BSR practitioner in Essex I opened my BSR practice in 2016 in Ballito, South Africa. In 2018 we moved to the UK and Im current...ly practising at the Halo Beauty & Tanning Salon close to Chafford Hundred Station. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I turned 40. The headaches, chest pain and all over muscle pain were unbearable by the time I was 60. I felt weak and depressed all the time. A friend who suffered from Parkinsons Disease had experienced great relief from BSR and referred me to a practitioner in South Africa. The effects of my first session were so impressive. I found BSR to be a very gentle, non-invasive and practical technique. After trying several other modalities, this was the first time I could see true results. Finally, | had some quality of life. I was so inspired that I enrolled at the Body Stress Release Academy in South Africa in 2016 to become a practitioner. I strongly recommend this as a career for anyone who has the passion and compassion for people suffering like I had been. One of my recent clients here in the UK was hit by a car as a pedestrian, and suffered severe neck and shoulder pain, leaving her with very limited mobility. 04.01.2022 Day 5 in Mfuwe, Zambia. We will never forget the first time we met this young boy. We went to his house in the village to give him his 1st Body Stress Release s...ession. He ran away shouting profanities and eventually his father ran after him, caught him, and 3 people had to hold him down, while 2 BSR Practitioners worked as fast as they could to give him a full BSR release. From there on out, the boy has just become calmer and calmer.
