23.01.2022 THE UGLY TRUTH How many of you.. were told, and are using a 3 or 4 steps cleanser EVERY DAY sometimes twice a day... because the woman in MYER told you to do so...??? And when asking you this.. how many have watched the series MAD MEN? There is such a thing as marketing scheme.. there is also such a thing as making you buy more of everything and use it more than necessary so that you will run out and buy more again! DO NOT GET FOOLED!!! Recently, I was in a pharmacy, were I saw a QV *pink* BREASTCREAM sold.. to be rubbed all over the breast while looking for lumps in the breast to detect breast cancer early... While I am ALL for feeling your breast and detecting breast cancer early, the issue with this was when I read the ingredients label... Parabens! I dont think I can tell you HOW many SBS documentaries and Danish tv shows I have seen - showing proof that parabens are in fact linked to cancer - And now, they are telling you.. in pink... to rub it all over your breast to feel for it.. Anyone getting my hint here??? Even the doctors have been recommending me QV!!! It is FRUSTRATING - how marketing works.. how big co-operations such as Johnsons - will STILL be selling baby powder (with talc) Even though they lost a case in America because proof was found that it was linked to ovarian cancer! today, they have more than 1500 lawsuit cases against them yet - You can still buy it on the shelves today! Another thing I have seen everywhere, is how they are selling charcoal to be used on the teeth everyday as a toothpaste and also every day as a cleanser... NO one, is saying anything about that charcoal -if used too often - can actually damage the enamel of your teeth (Especially if you eat sugar unlike the aboriginals did when they used it daily!) I am not saying you cant use charcoal... I sell it for goodness sake... However, I am saying, DONT use it more than once weekly unless you want very sensitive teeth! I will tell you all something, that is kind of a secret ;) It is all BULLS*** ... If you suffer from acne prone skin, it is most likely because of hormones, stress or an imbalance in your body - not related to your skincare regime. It is true, that there are a varies of ingredients you can use, that may help your skin - however, if their first ingredient is *water* (note: not in regards to soap as you are already using water!) you are probably not doing anything particular for your skin that will change anything as the ingredients that is supposed to work are so heavily diluted in the big companies that you hardly get it on your skin, just so they can spend less money on their product and earn more money. My biggest advice for anyone who wants to look after their skin, is to look after themselves. You can do this by having a healthy diet, have healthy sleep patterns (yes it matters!) and exercise.
