24.01.2022 Aren’t this pair cute? Clearly cut from the same cloth (Did I really say that? Feel free to groan...) but with their own little personalities. Two more siblings to finish and the family will be complete.
24.01.2022 Unless further announcements dictate otherwise, Bubbles, Bears & Other Wares will remain open during this lockdown period Orders will go out by post more or less as normal. There may be some slight delays due to the contact restrictions imposed by lockdown, but if you need your items in a hurry please let me know and I’ll do my very best to get you sorted out. It appears that I’m also still able to offer ‘click and collect’ for locals. This is strictly non contact and appl...ies to customers within a 5km radius only. (And thank you to Vicki Ward MP for Eltham for answering my questions at the end of what I’m sure has been a very long day!) To use this option, select ‘Pick up in store’ when you reach checkout, then select a collection time that suits you. Your order will labelled and ready for collection at the designated time. I’m also happy to arrange orders via FB, but all items must be paid in full via direct deposit or PayPal before you collect. In other news - I won’t be taking orders for memory bears or other custom items for a little while yet. I’m still dealing with pretty hellish pain and fatigue, so I’m trying to keep control of my workload enough that it stays a distraction rather than a burden. I’m hoping that the next couple of months will see things a bit more sorted with my j tube and I’ll have a bit more energy. I have got more surgery coming up, but my hope at this stage is to be able to look seriously at new custom orders by September/October. You’re most welcome to get in touch to have a chat in the meantime. Take care everyone!
21.01.2022 Soaping is still taking an awful lot out of me so I’m really just trying to restock as necessary - but I couldn’t resist the urge to play with a couple of new things. I always love to see what can be achieved using natural ingredients. Orange & Poppyseed and Lavender, Tea Tree & Peppermint of course are long time favourites, and beer soaps are something I’ve played with on and off over the years. At the moment I’ve a garden full of spinach and silver beet, which I can’t ea...t. I regularly use chlorophyll in my soaps, so thought I’d give my leafy greens a go! Clockwise from TL: Chocolate Porter - colour is just from the beer, scent mostly from the beer, with a touch of benzoin, copaiba & pepper to round it out Lavender, Tea Tree & Peppermint- alkanet root, essential oils Orange & Poppy Seed - combination of folded orange oil & annatto seed, poppy seed Mown Grass - dried/ground spinach leaf, scented with a touch of spearmint & peppermint EOs ... at the moment it smells like fresh cut grass in the middle of summer. This one is a total experiment - I don’t know how well or how long the colour will hold, but time will tell.

17.01.2022 This wee bear family are finished and on their way home. I’ve loved seeing them come together and their personalities develop. It’s a long time since I’ve made a corduroy bear, but it was the perfect material for these bears and a wonderful way for these jackets to live on.

13.01.2022 Like so many other small businesses in Melbourne, I’ve been waiting to see what today’s announcements would bring. It seems that sole operators can continue to operate provided that they don’t have contact with anyone outside their immediate household, so I will remain open for now. I’ll be trying to clarify in the next few days (once demand for the hotline has subsided a little!) whether or not I can still operate the non-contact click and collect service that I’ve been offering locals for some time now. If not, I will offer post only. This is going to be a hard time for so many people. Be kind - to yourselves and the people around you.

12.01.2022 Christmas soap #2 Coloured with chlorophyll and a touch of mica, scented with a blend of pine, birch and fir essential oils (subtle Christmas tree scent). Cocoa/mica decoration. These will be listed on the site when they’re almost ready for sale, but I’m happy to take pre-orders if anyone wants to reserve as I’ve only got limited numbers available.

One of the lovely things about memory/keepsake bears is being able to chat with my customers about their family members and using the provided clothing to create a unique bear that does the memory of their loved one justice. Thank you ladies for allowing me share your finished bears. And thank you for your patience and understanding while I’ve been getting them finished for you.
08.01.2022 My preference will always be for a physical market - half the fun is the atmosphere and getting to chat to customers and passers-by face to face - but I have to admit that being able to kick back and post a post a photo rather than pack the car does have its appeal! 07.01.2022 After seeing a canvas knitting needle roll I made for myself, my Dad had been dropping hints that his spanners needed a new home. Had to get him to help set up one of my sewing machines beside my bed for me, which sort of gave the game away, but this piece of remnant oilskin fit the bill nicely. Early Happy Father’s Day, Dad.
07.01.2022 This pair have been a long time in the making, but are some of my most recent memory bears - they are for the family of a police officer killed on duty. I had to get a wee bit creative, as we weren’t able to use his uniform. Sharing with permission from his family, but I’ve blotted out details (his name, rank & number are embroidered on the bear’s shirt) to maintain their privacy.
