13.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Welcome to the first post on "keeping your kids healthy in Winter". My first tip is - Sleep!!! While you sleep, your body produces cytokines, which fight infection, inflammation, and stress, as well as other infection-fighting cells. Not getting enough sleep not only makes you more prone to getting sick, but also increases the time you need to recover from illness. ... Keep a close eye on your little ones and learn the signs which indicate that your little one is tired, such as: yarning, rubbing their eyes, crying and being restless. Although you don't want to disrupt their sleeping routine, uncharacteristic tiredness may be a sign of sickness. So keeping them awake cause more harm than good. Well, till next time, all the best. 06.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope you and your family are well. I came across this article and thought I would share it with you all. The article details the tragic death of a four year old child after swallowing a small battery. Although battery safety rules are improving, it reminds us that toys can sometimes be dangerous to children. To avoid any issues, you can unpack and set up toys before giving them to your little ones. Then you can sit back and enjoy a quick relax. Form all ...of us here at Bubby Bear Care, have a good week. 05.01.2022 Hi everyone, well it is certainly becoming colder in this part of the world!! and I am sure we we are in for more as winter approaches. At times like these we all start to worry about our little ones getting sick. Well all want to do everything we can to prevent sickness, but where to start? Do we vaccinate? How do we stop it spreading through the family? Do we take multivitamins? how does this affect my baby if I am breastfeeding? ... There are a lot of conflicting opinions on these topics and sometimes it can seem like there are no simple answers...... well there aren't. It is all what is right for you and your family. The best thing to do is speak to your health care professional about your concerns. Stick with the one doctor so they have your families complete medical history. However, there is also no harm in getting a second (or third) opinion to get a bit of peace of mind. While I can't answer the medical questions for you, I will provide some tips over the coming weeks about the prevention of sickness in our little ones. Till then, put your feet up and have yourself a hot chocolate. :-) From the Bubby Bear Team
