25.01.2022 A massive congratulations to three members of our 1st XI who were named in the Eastern Cricket Association's Burt Shield team of the season! Josh Hillyer (c) Andrew Lammardo Leigh Donaldson... A fantastic achievement for some extremely talented and dedicated cricketers. Leading the team to a semi-final berth, Josh did a fantastic job balancing captaincy with his batting performance. Andrew is going from strength to strength every year and has cemented his name as one of the best bats in the competition. Leigh was herculean in his efforts with the ball, many times over blowing long spells for the side- but ask him if he was tired and you'd get the same response... "Don't you dare take me off". Well done lads, the entire #BullsFamily are incredibly proud of you and your efforts!

22.01.2022 Congratulations to all our winners of the $2000 Reverse Raffle held Saturday night the 8th of February. The 2 remaining tickets holders agreed to split the winnings. Congratulations go to Robin McRae and Malinga De Silva who each took home $1,050. Quoted saying "you have to spend money to make money", the auctioned off ticket turned out to be the lucky one for the brewmaster. A massive thank you to Luke, Andrew, Georgia, Ben and all involved who put together yet another terrific social event at the Bulls!

22.01.2022 The Burwood Uniting Canterbury Cricket Club, and the entire cricketing community, mourn the loss of Tim Frampton from Deepdene Uniting Cricket Club who tragically suffered a heart attack and passed away during a game on Saturday. We offer our sincerest condolences to Robyn and family, The Deeners and all that knew, played with or against him. Many of our members would have fond memories of playing against Tim, and his loss is a loss to the entire Cricketing family.... Rest easy Tim

22.01.2022 Garry Baker was a 300 game player at the Bulls from 1973 to 1999. He was honored with selection in the ESDCCA Team of the Century (1903-2003) at a special centenary dinner at the Camberwell Civic Centre. "Bakes" is a Life Member of the club, former President and Club Captain. Current Life Members (who still are at the club still playing or on the committee) Ian McRae, Morris Paolini, Andrew Hillyer, Darren J Read, Nev Read, Garry Yeomans and Adrian Waters all had the pleas...ure of playing games with Bakes and watching him dominate games with his ability as a left arm spinner and then with the bat. Thursday night (17/10), Bakes is kind enough to come down and work with a few of our spinners at the club as part of our skills coaching program. Come on down for a feed, a beer and you may hear a living legend of our club talk about some of the old times (weather permits). #GivingBackToCommunityCricket #BullsFamily #OurFamily

21.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that the committee advise of the passing of Ynys Grecian. Ynys was the Club Secretary in 1979/1980 and 1980/1981. She is well known for rallying the troops for social functions way before any formal social club was in place. Ynys is the wife of club life member, David Grecian. The Grecian clan were a strong cricketing family in the 60's and 70's having come through our juniors and represented our seniors. Lloyd, Roy, Geoff and David are all life membe...rs. Our club will remember Ynys this Saturday and pay respects by all teams wearing black arm bands. Herald Sun Death Notice: GRECIAN. 19.01.2022 This year, Trevor Barr has very generously decided to put a sponsorship into the club which is aimed at supporting those who help contribute back to the game of cricket. The Very Important Participant award is designed to celebrate not the best individual cricketing performance, but the small and important things such as batting out the last 10 overs to support the other batsman, enthusiasm/excellence in the field, running the scorebook all day, a long stint of umpiring, econ...omical bowling spell event that turned the game, a true act of sportsmanship that upholds the spirit of the game. Each week the captains will nominate a player who they believe has done something notable. Tex and Ian McRae will then make the final decision on the winner who then takes home a $50 Visa gift card! This week's nominations were: 1st XI: Malinga De Silva - Turned game around single-handedly with two direct hit run outs and 1/10 off 8. 2nd XI: Luke Paolini - Bowled 7.2 over and finished with 4 for 4. He was then he was meant to umpire for the first 10 overs, but a wicket wasn't lost so he did the whole 21 overs played. 3rd XI: Kunal Khanna - The only bowler who withstood the batting barrage and is very much team first in his attitude. 4th XI: Jack Rider came and scored for 70 overs and wasn’t even playing! Has also been instrumental in getting the young guys back and committed. 5th XI: Ali Sandy (John Sandy's wife) - Filled in our #11 spot. Batted in a last-wicket partnership of 14 (scoring 4). Then fielded for all 35 overs. Great, happy, smiling attitude. Congratulations Jack for being selected as this weeks winner, and thank you for taking the time to give back to the club - these things do not go unnoticed!

He will always be remembered as not only a great person and fellow team mate, but also a great cricketer with the bat and the ball. His fitness was the envy of all at BUCCC.

Junior Registrations are Open for the 2018-19 season along with Junior Blasters running as part of the junior pathways programme from 21st Oct 2018 to 3rd Mar 2019 Sundays 9am 10:30 am. Junior Blasters is for kids new to cricket with participants building their skills through fun, game based activities. The games are designed for small groups t...o ensure every child gets a go, allowing them to test and learn new skills. When they have mastered the basics they will be ready to graduate to Master Blasters where they can play modified games of cricket or move into junior cricket. 05.01.2022 Vale Terry Sandy. The Burwood Bulls are saddened to share that Terry Sandy, brother of John and uncle to Wil has passed away today, aged 59. Terry was a member of Canterbury Mont Albert before the merger which formed our club as it is today.... Everyone at the Bulls would like to pass on our sincerest condolences to Terry's family, friends and all that knew him.
