10.01.2022 Stripped down and cleaned up. These alusil blocks clean up beautifully when given a bath. 38 year old head gaskets looked pretty average but that is to be expected right, I mean what other car goes 38 years between gasket changes. Pistons have the usual carbon build up but the bores and piston skirts are perfect. Good ol 20w50 does the job

08.01.2022 After cleaning off the carbon deposits on top of the pistons and making sure the oil return holes in the pistons are clear we can start assembly. The iron coating on these are in great condition so be careful not to remove any in the cleaning process. Ring end gaps and big end bearing clearances set. Let’s get this back together
