25.01.2022 It was a pleasure speaking to Sky news about local businesses in the area. We are thrilled to announce we will be open for business from mid-next week. Dates to be confirmed but we are looking forward to getting started with our new adventure. Thank you Pete and Val for setting up such a smooth transition for us. https://youtu.be/VT_5krltM6E

14.01.2022 Pete and Maree @ Caltex will be taking delivery of a load of ULP tomorrow, which will be escorted in by the army( unlike the cowboy run today). After all that th...is pair of amazing people have done for this town in the last fortnight, not to mention the rest of the year ,could I be so bold as to suggest that we give them the support that they so richly deserve See more

11.01.2022 CAN WE HELP MALLACOOTA? REEL IT IN .........BREAM Challenge?? Expressions of interest. For many of us Mallacoota is a special place. The locals have been decima...ted by the recent fires and local traders have pretty much lost their entire summer trade. Even some scheduled events that bring people to the town have had to be cancelled. Our friends need our help. We have been approached by some of the locals and when we asked What can we do? the answer was unanimous. Once the roads are open, bring people back into our town!. With the Flathead challenge scheduled for November we feel this is too far away. And so we are asking for your help to get behind a ONE OFF REEL IT IN Bream challenge to support the town. We were thinking somewhere around June or July. This would be a good old fashioned Bream challenge done in REEL IT IN style. We could raise some additional funds for the local bushfire appeals and if we all bring an #emptyesky we could really make a difference. We would love to hear your thoughts and please let us know if you would be interested in joining us at Coota this winter to support the town we all love.

10.01.2022 Winter in Mallacoota. The clouds are smiling!

08.01.2022 We're familiar with Willy Wonka's 'golden ticket' but now there's 'golden fish' to help post-bushfire tourism recovery in Victoria. #9News

08.01.2022 Good to see the HMAS Choules has left Sydney en route to the East Gippsland coast, loaded with humanitarian aid and disaster relief supplies. At the same time, ...there are two Blackhawk helicopters based at East Sale with one undertaking a mission to transport firefighters to Mallacoota today, and return with sick and elderly patients. Supplies are being delivered to Mallacoota and other areas by both air and sea, with the highway expected to be cut for an extended period beyond Orbost. We can expect to see some of the larger Chinook helicopters in our region by the weekend which gives the relief and recovery effort some extra horsepower in dropping essential supplies and equipment to areas that have become isolated by the bushfires. The Australian Defence Force effort is being coordinated through the Incident Control Centre in Bairnsdale and complements all the hard work by firefighters, police, ambulance, SES, Red Cross and Council workers. It’s a huge team effort to keep us safe. Thanks to everyone involved. #lovegippsland See more

It’s now time for us to go boating & fishing. Good luck Craig, Frances & family,... Peter & Valerie York.
