14.01.2022 DUST EM OFF GUYS N GALS Oh, who are we kidding - youve been rubbing them like genie bottles ever since theyve started lifting restrictions (and probably ...before that) wishing wed say those 3 magical words Were goin racing! WELL YOUR WISH IS OUR COMMAND!!! Its time to announce our plans for returning to racing in 2020!!! ASBK is going to kick Morgan Park back into gear on August 20-23! We will then recommence running the Pirelli Southern Downs Road Race Series. 3 Rounds with approx 4-5 weeks between each will give competitors an opportunity to get back into the groove and enjoy the vast part of a great series. 2020 RACING DATES ROUND 2 - September 5th and 6th ROUND 3 - October 10th and 11th ROUND 4 - November 7th and 8th 2020 has been a difficult year with COVID-19, and the impact upon sporting communities has been immense. Ensuring we can get back to racing has been the focus of the committee. "I would like to thank all our members for their understanding in these times. The management committee has had to make some difficult decisions regarding our scheduled events for 2020. I believe the plan to return to racing we have made as a club will deliver the best outcome for the sport, our club members and the town of Warwick." - Simon Dickson, President, Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland. Of course, we will keep you updated throughout the coming weeks to let you know if there are any changes to restrictions that may prevent us from going forward. 11.01.2022 Well the day didnt go according to plan last time out I noticed the front brakes were a bit spongy I figured out it was the Brake master cylind...er so after ordering a new one and finding out that we wouldnt get it here in time I decided to do the next best thing and try out a reconditioning kit instead ( that was at 3 oclock yesterday) I thought ,okay I hope it would be alright but after the first session on the track today I wasnt feeling confident at all. The brakes were starting to feel spongy so with the help of a couple of friends we had another go at bleeding them. But by the end of the second session they were feeling spongy again ( and the lever started going to the bar - which didnt seem good to me ) So I decided it would be the safest decision to admit defeat, head for home and live to race another day. As I was about to leave the track Will (from Road and race ) sent me a message to say the original Brake Master Cylinder had finally arrived Another positive side to going to the track day though was catching up with Some good mates who I havent seen for awhile. and I still got to do about 15 laps around the track which is always good fun !! cheers Buddha See more

06.01.2022 I survived the freezing cold and rain at Warwick on Monday and Tuesday this week to complete level one and level two of the California Super Bike’s Schoo...l It was cool fun literally and I learnt heaps NOW I have got a few days to dry out and get ready for this weekends race meet (round 2 - hots starts) at Morgan Park. The weather isn’t looking good but it brings to mind the old Navy saying YOU’LL BE WET, YOU’LL BE COLD, YOU’LL BE FRIGHTENED BUT THE PRIDE OF THE FLEET WILL BE YOU!. 02.01.2022 Just a quick Race report The sporties put on a another great race weekend I had a ball and as usual the racing event had a great atmosphere and it was wel...l run BUT my lap times were a bit slow okay any slower and I would have arrived back home it was cold wet and windy (thats my excuse anyway ) and I couldnt get into the rhythm of it so I didnt want to push it. Instead I just wanted to enjoy the experience of being on the race track again And of course catching up with mates was great too. While all time I kept up the social distancing routine and wearing a mask when ever possible it worked out well because everyone was doing the same thing , now its only 2 weeks until we can do it all over again cheers Buddha See more
