10.01.2022 There are currently more than 30 crews on K’gari (Fraser Island), made up of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), Queensland Parks and Wildlife Servic...e (QPWS) and the Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation personnel. The makeup of the sand island makes our work difficult and we share the communities concerns, but we’ll continue to work around the clock to minimise the impact on K’gari (Fraser Island).
09.01.2022 #AusArmy Reservist Private Frank Marrar had a busy first year in the Army Reserve. After completing recruit and patrolman courses in Darwin, he deployed three t...imes around Australia supporting #YourADF operations. The 29-year old, from the remote Northern Territory community of Nauiyu, enlisted in Norforce in September 2019. Private Marrar went from cutting down burnt trees and clearing footpaths at Kangaroo Island during #OpBushfireAssist, to manning a police check point to control access to remote communities in the Northern Territory for #OpCOVID19Assist. 08.01.2022 Calling on all World War II history buffs! The challenge has been set to find the families of a WWII Wellington Bomber crew. The aircraft’s Rear Gunner, Mr ...Edward Sheriff (then RAF Flight Sergeant), gifted a photo to the Australian High Commission in London. Taken in 1944, the photograph shows the combined Royal Australian Air Force and Royal Air Force crew standing with their No. 466 Squadron Wellington Bomber in Driffield, Yorkshire. Mr Sheriff shared the photo with the hope of finding the late crew’s families in Australia. The combined RAAF-RAF crew he served with was led by Pilot Flight Sergeant Allan Crawford (RAAF) with Navigator Flight Sergeant Shand (RAF), Mid-upper Gunner Flight Sergeant Sturgess (RAF), Wireless Operator Flight Sergeant Thomas Peacock (RAAF), and Bomb Aimer Flight Sergeant Harry Muller (RAAF). Families of the Wellington Bomber crew can contact the office of the Air Force Adviser in London at https://bit.ly/WWII-RAAF-RAF #AusAirForce #YourADF
