19.01.2022 So, something exciting is beginning for Buderim Better Bodies next year. I have loved sharing in the personal growth of my clients. I find exercise and the health industry such a rewarding experience. I can’t wait to build on this as a full time career in a main stream clinic. Yes, for those of you who know me well, main stream is somewhat challenging for me. ! ... But, that doesn’t mean it is not good for me. I tend to sit on the fence with one foot in camp science and one foot in camp alternative. So you’ll all be able to refer to me as the Hippie on campus for the next 4 years. I am so hopeful to one day be working in Eating Disorder clinics! Yeah, I’ll fit right in!

18.01.2022 ‘Gratitude’ and ‘mindfulness’. It is so easy to get stuck in the dilemmas of real life without finding the single points of gratitude that seems to come hand in hand with mindfulness. Big words, without meaning, until you put it all into perspective. You see, the beauty of this moment and this photograph could not have been possible had the endless bushfires burning up and down the east coast of Australia had not been a huge problem for all of us. 15.01.2022 Buderim Better Bodies update. I had such a satisfying day yesterday. It has taken me , like,....25 years of interest and about 10, years of continual study, to reach a point where I feel I can bring it all together. This week I left the comfort of my work space, to work in the comfort space of a mum desperate to get the help and support that her and her daughter require to overcome Anorexia. Many professionals work on the one with ‘the problem’ but mental health truely is a ...shared problem. Everyone is suffering. It is difficult sometimes to leave work and other clients to work intensively on one. Financially, it is not sustainable to work like this. However, I had the opportunity and I jumped at the chance and I am so very, very pleased I did. I really think we made some positive progress ( Kinesiology works so well at finding the priorities in a huge mental health melting pot!) . I am so looking forward to the next 5 years. 10.01.2022 This is a great book! It is short and has tried to explain in layman terms the way the brain controls us. Small techniques on offer to assist you in moving from ‘reacting to responding’.
10.01.2022 My kind of supplements. I don’t get into commercial supplement like most PTs do. I think absorption and utilisation of nutrients can be enhanced by taking it in its natural state. However, there are always exceptions. When your stressed or burnt out. ... If your sick. If you are working on building muscle. Or if your diet has left you chronically deficient. And, if your hormone production has gone hay wire. ( often due to the above mentioned situations.) Getting back into a healthy state, requires lots of good foods + supplementation + exercise + laughter + sunshine. I’m going into a muscle building phase for the next 6 weeks. Which means I’ll be adding protein supplants to my already high protein diet. Why would you put the effort in, if your not going to get maximum benefit. If your working to right your health, get fit, build muscle and not getting the results you want. Talk to a professional. Simple. Don’t keep struggling! It’s not fun.

01.01.2022 What a challenging year this has been! Before the ups, there were the troughs! with some low, lows. Thank god that our Mindsets are practiced. ... Hopefully, before you hit the low, lows! Mindset makes all the difference to how well (or bad) you weather the storm. Exercise is a great place to practice your mindset. Every time you don’t meet your own expectation (so often!) you have an opportunity to decide ‘which mindset will I use today?’ Am I going to put myself down, and victimise myself? Or..... Am I going to apply great strength, dig deep and believe that only through positive talk will I find the will to go whole heartedly again? Whole hearted. Whole hearted. Whole hearted. Because ‘trying’ is just, well, ‘trying’! And to try, means there is room for both outcomes! After many years of on the court losses, I know that if I try, there is plenty of room to lose. But, if I pick myself up, believing that all I need is to have another good go at it, I have a much better chance of getting a positive outcome. I lost again today. 4 weeks in a row. But, I’m still smiling. I know this is not the end. I’ll keep going. What ever is going on in your life atm. Believe in yourself. Apply this mindset. Tomorrow is another opportunity.
