25.01.2022 A great mix of newly released fiction ready for borrowing now!

24.01.2022 New release fiction and non-fiction this week. Popular authors in fiction and interesting reads in non-fiction.

23.01.2022 Last week we had a visit from Carole, Erica and Carol from FOML (Friends of Maroochydore Library) who presented us with a cheque for just over $4,000, shown being very gratefully accepted by our Treasurer, Paula. This was half of the balance of funds held by FOML when they had to make the very difficult decision to wind up their organisation after 17 years of support and fundraising for Maroochydore Library. The other recipient of the leftover funds went to another local volunteer-run Library, Woombye Library. Our appreciation and heartfelt thanks goes to FOML for choosing us as one of the recipients of their surplus funds. The money will be spent purchasing more new books for the library, thereby ensuring it is enjoyed by readers in our local community.

22.01.2022 Another week where a non-fiction (Fighting Evil) has sneaked itself into the new fiction books. We also have a couple of Historical Fiction in this week’s selection..... The Bird in the Bamboo Cage is inspired by true events which actually happened in China in 1941.... This is the unforgettable story of the life-changing bonds formed between a young girl and her teacher, in a remote corner of a terrible war. The Governess tells the story of Marion 'Crawfie' Crawford, the progressive young working-class woman who, as royal governess for seventeen years, lived on the most intimate terms with Princess Margaret and the future Queen Elizabeth II. Happy Reading!!
