24.01.2022 Members Neil & Alan representing Mundingburra Rotary at the Defence Welcome Expo on Saturday 8th February. Ready and waiting to provide the bald facts about Rotary to anyone who might enquire! The Welcome Expo is a great opportunity to connect with an important segment of our community.

23.01.2022 What a wonderful Picnic in The Park we had today to celebrate Australia Day in Buderim. The Rotary Club of Buderim would like to thank all those who worked so hard to make this event such a lovely day, and our local community who came out to celebrate with us.
23.01.2022 This #AnzacDay will be like no other, and our hearts go out to all of those who traditionally participate in the #AnzacDayServices across the nation. We know this will be heart-wrenching to so many who, possibly for the first time ever, will not be able to show their respect, and honor their loved ones, in the traditional way which is so important to them. Rest assured, we will not forget.
23.01.2022 A great example of Rotary helping out in a practical way. They know their community & know where the help is most needed. Good on you! Just another reason to be proud to be a Rotarian.
21.01.2022 Earlyact is a school-wide service club for primary school students, overseen by Years 5/6, and sponsored by a local Rotary Club. The purpose of Earlyact programs is to engage students in character building activities, to prepare them for leadership roles and to identify and carry out meaningful projects which benefit their school, local and international communities. On Tuesday the Rotary Club of Buderim was privileged to see the program in action at Murgon State School. A g...reat bunch of kids developing leadership & entrepreneurial skills while showing compassion for those less fortunate. The students worked hard to raise a considerable sum of money to contribute towards the Rotary Lifestraws project. Buderim Rotary Club members were able to demonstrate how the filtration system works, and how much of a difference it makes in many communities. A huge "THANKYOU" to Murgon State School Earlyact club and the school community. See more

20.01.2022 Western Australia is once more experiencing severe bushfire damage with a loss of over 71 homes. The result of this will be long term hardship for many and we s...eek your help in collecting funds so that we can provide necessary support. Rotarians have been in contact both locally and from around Australia, keen to be of assistance. If there is any practical assistance required we will be in touch with our clubs. We have already made offers to all the relevant shires and evacuation centres. In the meantime an appeal fund, managed by Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) has been set up, and we thank all of you for your support. Please share this link to all your contacts - https://donations.rawcs.com.au/Default.aspx
20.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Buderim would like to thank everyone who donated items for our book & puzzle fair on Saturday. Your generosity is appreciated and ensured the day was a great success. Our club members worked hard for the event, but also enjoyed the day immensely. It is events such as these that epitomize what Rotary is all about at a local level: like-minded people working together, enjoying each others company, & at the same time raising funds for the local community. If community involvement such as this appeals to you, contact us today via FB or our website to see how you an become a Rotary member. It really is life-changing.
20.01.2022 Arent you so proud to be a Rotarian? We are. #nationalvolunteerweek
19.01.2022 While on a community level many Rotarians have felt the frustrations of not being able to provide hands-on help due to the restrictions, across the globe Rotary has once again risen to the occasion to provide help where possible.
19.01.2022 It was great being back flipping a snag or two at Bunnings today. The BBQs are a great way for us to raise funds to help our local community, and we are grateful to Bunnings for this wonderful initiative. Thankyou to all who purchased a sausage today - we appreciate it.
19.01.2022 As Rotary clubs across the country start a new Rotary year, they reflect on the contributions they have made to their communities & across the world with a deep sense of pride. If you would like to become more involved in your community, make wonderful friendships & experience the fulfillment that comes from the knowledge that you are making a difference, contact us today. It may be a life-changing phone call!
18.01.2022 Happy National Volunteer Week!
17.01.2022 Thanks to our team of walkers for representing The Rotary Club of Buderim in the 'Lift The Lid on Mental Health' walk on the weekend. Our club has a proud history of supporting mental health initiatives, and Paul, Ros, Lynne, Mark & Margaret carried the torch for us with enthusiasm. The walk is yet another Rotary Health initiative, and accolades to all the local Rotarians who worked hard in the organization of this event, and participated.
17.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Buderim recently welcomed Cheryl Ryan from 123 Travel to speak to them about a project of which she is particularly passionate, and which is proudly supported by Rotary. The Seven Women Project in Nepal was started by Melbourne Rotarian Stephanie Woollard who will be speaking about the project at The Buderim Tavern Function Room in honour of International Womens Day. 123 Travel and Buderim Rotary are encouraging locals to support the event and learn more... about this truly inspirational woman and how she has changed the lives of Nepalese women living in poverty. Stephanie Woollard began Seven Women at just 22 years of age after meeting seven disabled women working in a tin shed in Kathmandu. These seven women were struggling to make a living in the face of harsh discrimination. With her last $200, Steph paid for a trainer to teach the women how to produce products for sale locally and abroad - and Seven Women was born. Since 2006, Steph has built up the Seven Women team and launched an Australian arm for fundraising and a sales channel for the expanding operation in Nepal. Twelve years after her meeting in a tin shed that started it all, over 5,000 women have been educated, trained and employed by Seven Women. Stephanie is a member of the Rotary Club of Melbourne, and a proud recipient of a Rotary Peace Fellow award and the Rotary International Responsible Business Award presented at the United Nations in New York in 2016. To hear Stephanies story, locals are invited to The Buderim Tavern Function Room on the 9th March from 6.00pm to 7.30pm. Tickets are $35.00, which includes a drink on arrival, nibbles and a door prize. Bookings can be made online via Eventbrite, or via 123travelconferences.com.au.

16.01.2022 Yet another example of Rotary making a difference.
16.01.2022 We love our venue at The Buderim Tavern function room for our weekly lunch meetings. Good food, great service, & a fantastic view right over to the coast. However, occasionally we are unable to access the venue as happened on Friday, so we decided to take advantage of the magnificent weather and head to Buderim Park for a picnic. What a great asset this park is. Plenty of picnic tables, lush green grass for the kids to play on, and again, views to die for. Thankyou to Joan, our efficient Club Service Director, for organizing the food & drinks. A lovely afternoon was had by all.
16.01.2022 Rotary is more than community service. Rotary opens opportunities - across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves. #RotaryOpenOpportunities... Image credit: The Rotary Club of Morisset
15.01.2022 Thankyou to Peter for some more great photos of the Australia Day crew at work (or having fun).
15.01.2022 We were very privileged to have Alan Slater from Business Dynamics as our guest speaker on Friday. Alan gave a very entertaining, & eye-opening, insight into some of the misleading advertising ploys used in marketing. Many of our members will probably be reading the small print on their purchases from now on, and either be amused, or horrified. Thank you, Alan, for a wonderful presentation.
14.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Buderim in conjunction with Rotary International District 9600 recently sourced and distributed a quantity of hand sanitizer. The bottles have been provided to a number of organizations whose primary function is to cater for those members of society in need of assistance due to poverty, homelessness, etc. Another example of Rotary at work in the community.
14.01.2022 Great music today with M7 & Mike McClellan.
13.01.2022 The World Health Organizations African region is officially certified free of wild poliovirus.
11.01.2022 New members are the life-blood of any club. They add a different perspective, new passion and generally have an invigorating effect. The ideal club membership consists of a balance of experience, innovative thinking and enthusiasm. People join Rotary because they believe in the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" and they apply this ethos through the work they do in their communities & internationally. Many clubs have found it very frustrating during the recent restrict...ions as they were limited in their ability to help their communities as much of their membership fell into the 'at-risk' categories. Rotary desperately needs young, forward-thinking, selfless individuals who are keen to make a difference in their communities and the world. If you fit the bill and you are ready to make a life-changing commitment, contact us for more information. See more
11.01.2022 Congrats to Rotary Club of Buderim for organising the annual Australia Day Parade in Buderim. Well done to you and all of the community groups and participants.
08.01.2022 We are happy to welcome our new Executive board for the 2020/21 Rotary year. Fresh ideas, innovation, & no doubt some unprecedented challenges, will all contribute to another wonderful, fulfilling year. If you have been considering how to become more involved in your community, & would like to be part of an amazing, humanitarian organization, the start of the Rotary year is a perfect time to make the move. Contact us today. Rotary membership really can be life-changing.
08.01.2022 Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to the WA Bushfire Appeal. Nearly $72,000 raised so far. https://directory.rawcs.com.au/62-2019-20
08.01.2022 Ditto Alexandra Rotary Clubs comments. Our club was also privileged to have Bill & Melissa present to our meeting yesterday about the amazing work they, and their band of selfless volunteers, do for our remote families. Its all too easy for those of us along the coast to allow our struggling farmers to slip under the radar as they are so remote from our daily lives. Despite some relief in areas from rain, they are still struggling and will be for many years. Care Outreach provides grass-roots help to these families and their communities. They are a shining example of our own Rotary ethos of Service before self.
07.01.2022 People join Rotary because they want to make a positive difference in their communities and internationally. This is more achievable by being part of a like-minded group and with the backing of the power of Rotary. The more motivated members a club has, the more that can be achieved. If isolation has given you a new appreciation for fellowship and being involved in your community, consider #joiningrotary.
06.01.2022 Another fantastic Australia Day Parade and the feedback were getting is that it was enjoyed by all. The spectators particularly enjoyed having our emergency personnel leading the parade & took full advantage of the opportunity to show their appreciation. From our clubs perspective, everything went like clock-work, making the 6 months of hard work well & truly worth the effort. The sound of the crowds cheering & the smiling faces reminds us of why we keep coming back year after year to organize this event. This is our reward. A HUGE Thank you to the parade participants who brave the heat & humidity, with many working hard before the day to organize their parade entry. Your Aussie pride and community commitment is very much appreciated.
06.01.2022 The Seven Sisters Project Nepal is a perfect example of what one motivated, selfless person can achieve. A great way to celebrate International Women's Day by hearing how one amazing woman has been able to change the lives of so many. Steph is a shining example of a Rotarian adhering to the ethos of 'Service Above Self".
06.01.2022 Must have been the weekend for Rotary Club picnics. The Rotary Club of Buderim gathered for fish & chips at the Mooloolaba Spit yesterday. Interesting to note the contributions of Rotary to our community over the years: Alexandra Headlands club met at Rotary Park, and Buderim club met in the picnic shelters also sponsored by Rotary (plaque inside shelters). Very proud to be part of an organization that contributes so much to the local community.
05.01.2022 We are proud to be able to support the Rotary Club of Nauru in their provision of Lifestraw units. Being able to access clean water in these communities makes such a difference. Another example of Rotarians making a difference.
04.01.2022 The Rotary Foundation exemplifies the ethos of Rotary. As Rotarians, whether we work at a community level, or international, we all proudly contribute in some way to the betterment of our local communitees, our country and our world. There has never been a more important time to embrace principals that unite people and foster harmony, compassion and peace.
04.01.2022 Through the global fight to #endpolio, @RotaryInternational and its partners have protected more than 2.5 billion children from polio. Because of their work and the efforts of tens of thousands of health workers, polio will one day soon be a distant memory endpol.io/5ppways #VaccinesWork

04.01.2022 Wendy and Steve doing the rounds Wendy and Steve visited Nambour during the week, continuing to spread the word about the 100th Anniversary Gala Dinner and the ...proposed Monument. The team are doing a great job in binging together the 24 clubs and getting feedback and gauging their interest. They received a very positive response, as they have done wherever they've gone, and also positive messages are coming in from higher levels within Rotary. The first release of Gala dinner tickets will be available soon to club members so stay tuned, as these will go QUICK for what promises to be a great occasion celebrating 100 years of Rotary in Australia. Details coming soon !!!

02.01.2022 Rotary doing its part in these horrible times.
02.01.2022 You are all sensational. Lets keep this growing. Https://RAWCS.org.au
01.01.2022 Need something from Bunnings? Why not head down to the Maroochydore store tomorrow (Friday 13th March) & while you're there grab a sausage from the Rotary Club of Buderim BBQ. Not only will it arguably be THE best BBQ snag you've ever tasted, but you'll also be helping this club continue to do the great work they do.
01.01.2022 Rotary Handover events are always auspicious occasions where clubs reflect on the year past and welcome in the new Rotary year, and the new Executive, with renewed enthusiasm and vigor. On Thursday evening, The Rotary Club of Buderim did just that. Members and guests gathered at the Mercure Hotel Kawana for a delicious meal and the usual highly enjoyable fellowship. Although the occasion is treated with the respect and formality it deserves, there was certainly no shortage of... the light-hearted camaraderie the Rotary Club of Buderim is known for. Out-going President Lynne Phillips highlighted the achievements of a year which presented unprecedented challenges, many of which will be ongoing for quite some time. She proudly presented the Paul Harris Fellow award to David Johnston for his ongoing dedication and hard work. Paul Tanner was awarded with the Les Day Award for Rotarian of The Year. Both David and Paul are dedicated Rotarians whose contributions to the Buderim club and Rotary in general, are worthy of the accolades. Incoming President Ros Cheales spoke with enthusiasm of rising to the challenge, adapting to the changes, and moving forward as an effective club making a difference in our community and globally.
