24.01.2022 As we are unable to present our planned program this school holidays we are going to put up some fun things up on Facebook and our Website to do and make. Wednesday 1st July Neil will lead Alison and Wilari on a birdwalk around Halls Gap. Alison will by filming it live (if she can make it all work ok as she still has her Lplates on!)

23.01.2022 Next Thursday NHVic, in partnership with Salvos Moneycare, is kicking off a series of online sessions titled Youre the Boss to assist people in our communities who have found themselves financially vulnerable this may be due to the impact of COVID-19 or for other reasons also. The sessions will be run by Financial Counsellor Sandra Kington, with the aim of providing practical tips which help people stay in control of their finances and improve their relationship with mon...ey. The topics are: 13 August: Intro to Money/Why budget? 20 August: Everyday savings 27 August: Loan traps and contracts 3 September: Tips for taking care of Christmas These free sessions are only expected to run for around 30 mins each. 23.01.2022 This Friday is Restart a Heart Day, from 10am-12noon we will have Linda from Ambulance Victoria here at Budja (at the Mobile Clinic which will be pulled up in the main car park) talking to interested community members about where to find and how to use Public Access Defibrillators in Halls Gap. People are welcome to just drop by and chat to Linda and I am also happy to give people a tour of the mobile clinic and give them information on services offered at Budja Budja.

21.01.2022 This was missed in the latest FTG. Please take time to read and if you can help give Marion a call. Grampians Textures and Grampians Brushes Grampians Brushes 20 that was due to run in September 2020 has been cancelled.... Our dates for 2021 are: Grampians Textures 13 18 March and Grampians Brushes 11 16 September. We are looking for several more classroom in Halls Gap for us to run our workshops from. We are looking for large rooms, these might be large lounge/living room rooms in a holiday house, a play room or recreation room. We will need to have exclusive use of the space for the duration of the workshop ie students need to be able to safely leave their workshop space set up overnight. Use of a toilet and somewhere to make tea and coffee. We take great care of the spaces we use and make sure that we dont have anything that might be messy in private house etc. We run lots of different workshop such as embroidery, knitting, weaving, illustration, botanical drawing that are very tidy sort of workshops. 10.01.2022 Did you know there is a World Wide Knit in Public Day. Well there is and Budja Budja will be hosting an event on Saturday 13th June from 10-2 pm at the Halls Gap Hub. We will be practicing social distancing in a very yarney way. Check out other WWKIPday events. http://www.wwkipday.com/ So far we are the only registered event in Australia. 08.01.2022 NAIDOC Week has been postponed. Normally celebrated in July due to this year it will be celebrated in November. There still will be a number of online events during 5-12 July, 2020 to mark the original week. NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. 06.01.2022 RESTRICTION EASING As of today, some of the restrictions placed on gatherings, facilities, and activities have been eased. While these is a step forward,... its important to remember the Coronavirus is still a present danger in all communities and distancing and hygiene should be at the forefront of everyones minds. Residents should not leave their homes except for: Shopping for essentials Exercise, Medical care Work if you cannot work from home Visiting friends or family if you have to The new rule allows for up to five guests in a home but does not allow for an overnight stay unless providing care, babysitting, or providing support to someone who is vulnerable. You should not make social visits that require overnight trips to friends and family.
