24.01.2022 We are excited to announce that our new two-bedroom accessible holiday unit is now available for booking for regional Victorians (due to Covid restrictions). We have an introductory offer of a 20% discount running until the end of November while we iron out any glitches and get useful feedback from guests. Just use the coupon INTRO-OFFER when booking your accommodation on our web site. The main house is available for bookings too so you will see the web site has changed cons...iderably with a new booking capability. We are very keen to host guests with accessibility needs so we can get feedback on how to improve our amenities. We are offering one night free until the end of November (a discount of $150) if you are in this category. Contact us beforehand so we can discuss your requirements. There are photo albums you can look through on this facebook page or check the gallery at https://buffalobedandbike.com.au/accommodation/apartment

13.01.2022 It’s great to see our new accessible apartment promoted this way by Accessible Accommodation. We are excited now the Melbourne lockdown is over to be hosting more visitors and can’t wait for other borders to open.

13.01.2022 Great that our neighbours are opening up more days. Grab one of the bicycles and cycle there. Grab a coffee and snack and browse their wonderful collection of plants and pots.

12.01.2022 Whoo-hooo !! restrictions will be eased in regional Victoria from Wednesday midnight. This includes travel to other regional areas and the opening of accommodation. Details of the third step which applies from Wednesday midnight in regional Victoria are specified at https://www.vic.gov.au/third-step-coronavirus-road-to-recov So we can take bookings from regional Victorians to arrive as soon as this Thursday. We hope a lot of them decide to take this unique opportunity to enj...oy the jewels of their own state but without the crowds from Melbourne and interstate. I know we will be. Our rates are lower than they otherwise would be for the school holidays. But we are sad for our friends and everyone else in Melbourne who are still struggling with restrictions and isolation. We miss our friends and family there as well as our family and friends interstate who we still can’t visit and they can't visit us. Anyway, maybe we will have more humans to chat with soon.

10.01.2022 Lots of bush markets coming up in the region.

09.01.2022 Good day for a drive to the falls but we are frantically doing last minute chores on the new accessible apartment as first guests arrive tomorrow. They hale from Gippsland. Unfortunately don’t know when we will be able to host Melburnians again. #mtbuffalonationalpark #AccessibleTravel #brightandsurrounds

08.01.2022 A few more jobs left and our new two bedroom guest unit will be ready for bookings. It is fully accessible so we can also host guests with mobility restrictions. It has an adjustable queen bed in the main bedroom and a height adjustable table which can be set high enough for use as a standing desk or low enough to suit someone in a wheelchair. The second bedroom has a double bed and an optional single bed. See more photos at https://photos.app.goo.gl/KRZJGb1dvRfJSJFy9

06.01.2022 Separate from the main house are two self-contained two bedroom units. The ground floor unit is available for holiday letting and is fully accessible according to the AS1468 standard. It has views to Mount Buffalo and the Ovens Valley.

04.01.2022 Love it when we get a review like this. 'We spent 6 nights at Monica and Graham's place in Eurobin and had a wonderful time. The house had everything in it that we needed, the beds were comfortable and warm and the kitchen was well equipped. The location was ideal for us, really quiet, a backyard for the kids to run around in and kick a soccer ball, super close to the rail trail and an easy drive to Porepunkah, Bright and Myrtleford. It was lovely to jump on the bikes and rid...e to the nearby towns to explore. Which brings me to the bikes which is why we chose this place to stay. The bikes were exactly what we needed, there were plenty to choose from but the highlights were the 20 inch bike for our five year old and the tow along for our two year old. Being able to use these bikes rather than bring our own or bother with hiring bikes added so much value to our stay. Thank you so much for having us stay at your place, we really had a wonderful and much needed break!' See more

04.01.2022 This is good news.

03.01.2022 Mount Buffalo has been a destination for hundreds of years, local indigenous tribes visited to feed on the Bogong Moths. Hume & Hovell’s exploration party were... the first Europeans to see and then name Mount Buffalo in 1824. It was not until the discovery of gold 30 years later, did the first Europeans scale the mountain. On 4 November 1898 an area was reserved around the plateau and Eurobin Falls as Mount Buffalo National Park, making it one of the oldest national parks in Australia. In 1908 a road was built and in 1910 the first Chalet was opened. In 2008, the park was added to the Australian National Heritage List as one of eleven areas constituting the Australian Alps National Parks and Reserves.
