25.01.2022 Cooked nicely using hickory and apple.

24.01.2022 This season's fish are all sold out. The good news is that the next cohort coming through should be ready in early January. The water is warm and they are eating and growing rapidly. We look forward to supplying fresh fish locally and into Melbourne again as soon as possible.

24.01.2022 Fish available tomorrow Saturday 21st. Looks like this will be the last for a couple of months. Next season's are growing well but not quite big enough yet. Best to ring today so you don't miss out.

23.01.2022 We will be harvesting cod this Saturday 16th January. Just give us a ring or message before the end of Friday and we'll have your order ready on Saturday morning. They don't come any fresher than this (Unless you catch your own). They are about 800g. and still $18/kg (whole on ice) It's early in the season but they will get bigger. Looking forward to supplying our locals once more.

23.01.2022 Fresh fish available again this Saturday 7th Nov. The fish for this Saturday will be a bit smaller than usual ( about 500-600g) We are getting towards the end of the season. Don't forget to order early. Still $18 / kg and whole on Ice. (Not gilled or gutted)

22.01.2022 It was good to send more fish to market today. More in a fortnight. We also have some SMALL SQUARE BALES OF RYE. available for $11 /bale (This includes GST) freshly cut and stored under cover.

19.01.2022 You may ask what we do with our excess effluent? It's simple it gets aerated and put out on the pasture to grow a lovely crop of Rye this time. We have small squares to sell now. $11 .

18.01.2022 Murray Cod are the largest freshwater fish in Australia, regularly growing to over a metre in length. The largest ever recorded was 1.8 metres long and weighed about 113 kg. Despite their name, they are not related to the cod species of the northern hemisphere. That's just a bit of trivia for today. We're starting to get back to normal after a tumultuous start to the year so consequently fish will now be available for locals to buy when we harvest for market on Saturdays. If... we disturb them all the time we find that they go off their food for a couple of days. Next market harvest will be Saturday 4th June. Just give us a ring to order. See more

15.01.2022 This Saturday we will be catching fish for market again. I can't believe how fast the fortnights are going. Fresh fish will be available for locals. Just give us a ring to organise a pick up.

14.01.2022 We did a sort today and put some of the small fish in bigger tanks. Here's a photo of the last few that went over. Looking good.

03.01.2022 FISH FOR SALE AGAIN THIS SATURDAY. 29TH. The lockdown in Melbourne has slowed down our sales into the city but there are plenty for locals who want a feed of very fresh fish. Here's a nice simple recipe to try. Bon Appetit! PAN-FRIED MURRAY COD This is a great quick recipe for families as the sweet potato cooks quickly and our delicious premium fish is not too strong in flavour.... Serves: 4 Preparation time: 10 mins Cooking time: 10 mins Ingredients 4 fillets of Buffalo River fishery Murray Cod 2 medium sweet potato, peeled and cut into quarters 2 heaped teaspoon miso paste 1 tablespoon of micro herbs or a spring onion stalk 1 generous knob of butter 1 teaspoon of sesame oil for frying Method 1. Boil Sweet Potato until tender (about 10 minutes) then blend with miso paste and keep warm 2. Meanwhile heat butter and oil in a frying pan, pat dry the Murray Cod fillets, season with salt and pepper then sear until the edges lose their translucency. 3. Gently turn the fillets over and cook for a further two minutes 4. Spread the puree on four warm plates, place the cooked fish to one side and top with micro herbs or finely sliced spring onion
