25.01.2022 Spent some time out with the horses in their yards this morning, with my camera and over course Astro the BC from the neighbours appeared for his playtime with Dollee .. some pics of them with the audience of some Guinea fowl who avoided getting 'cut' up the fenceline this time. LOL

21.01.2022 I remember Bill Dorrance from my early years with horses. He and a few other 'oldtimers' all gone now, imparted approaches that I still use today, 3/4 of a century down that trail.

19.01.2022 Updates on our premier girls .. Charming To A Tee - and she is just that. One year old this month and standing alongside her dam who is 15.1 and Dollee is a bit downhill from her too. Such an elegant, beautifully natured filly, developing into a stunning jr. filly. She is going to steal someone's heart and make a superb project for show and performance.

09.01.2022 Celebrated the birthday of BR team personality and extended family friend Joanna Richardson yesterday. At the Bottletree Hotel in Glamorganvale. First time there, great venue, excellent food and service . Lo and behold met another old equine associate friend from Appaloosa days, who is working there .. good to see Anita. A great way to spend an enjoyable afternoon, special friend and good time.

08.01.2022 Dollee (Charming To A Tee) - a few candid shots taken this morning. She is growing so quickly, she may surpass her momma when she's done. Such a classy, intelligent and athletic filly who is going to make someone very happy. She's had her current ground work for now, easy to do all the required things with, so just having time to grow and play. A year old this month. Dual registered AQHA-PHAA.

08.01.2022 Some old photos from the early 1970's showing a couple of well known Ontario horses of their day. Both were owned by Georgina & Al Lovering. The black AQHA mare Miss Skipa Tip in a Trail Class, first time out + the Cdn National Appaloosa Halter Ch. gelding Dominos Candy Lad after a good solid 3rd. place in our first Western Pl. class. I showed both horses for awhile, especially Lad and we made a good team, in both Western and English Pl. + HUS. Some good memories of times 50 years ago. Thanks Georgina for sending these.

08.01.2022 Some vital information for owners, riders, trainers et al. Especially those involved in disciplines that put a lot of strain on the forehand. The biggest cause of breakdowns in performance horses.

08.01.2022 GQHPC AA All Breed Show .. this morning. The show debut of PS The Black Pearl, smokey black Paint bred filly. She is owned by my extended family friends, the Ramages of Painted Star Stud. We placed third out of 4 fillies 2/3 year old. This filly has the best set up hindquarters and great shoulder and while not tall, the moves for a great working horse in Cutting and/or Reining. 06.01.2022 Great news .. the Eagle is in the nest - positive pregnancy scan today for The Charmed One. AI to Recycled Genetics Sept. 16 - successful term will be between August 13 and August 28, 2021. We are excited .. oh yes .. BRQH team is excited.

06.01.2022 Today was Charm's confirming pregnancy scan @ 49 days. We have an embryo in formation, strong heartbeat, approx. 4cm in length, and could see tiny ribs, head and the beginnings of a foreleg already. So now we get on with care, routines, and pending news until next August rolls around. The eagle has definitely begun the ceremony .. genetics are being recycled. Thank you EEVS, Carmyle VS and Crown K QH's for this opportunity.

06.01.2022 Dollee has formed a fun and interesting relationship with the neighbours Border Collie, Astro. He's a delightful, friendly and gentle soul who spends most of his time on his own and never gets to hone his innate skills. Well since she has been weaned, he visits Dollee a couple of times a week and they enjoy showing off each others talents .. his in herding and hers in cutting and turnback. One of these days I will catch it on video. Oh by the way, Astro is a 'smiler' too. What a gentleman, in his tux and always gracious. LOL.

03.01.2022 How can you tell when feeding time is approaching .. ask the daughter and mother team .. Dollee & Charm. Dollee is a year old now and Charm just turned 17 and recently was scanned in foal to Recycled Genetics (US) for an August 2021 foal.
