22.01.2022 In Episode 3 of our Seeds For Success podcast, we talk about getting the mix right: Managing a mixed farm through drought and not losing sight of what’s impo...rtant... Today, we’re chatting with Elliot Shannon. Elliot runs a 1,700 ha mixed farm at Bugaldie (north-west of Coonabarabran). And he does it with the help of his wife Kate, his father Rob and his four kids. Together, they run beef cows as well as trade cattle and winter cropping. 09.01.2022 G’day guys and gals! On Saturday, Coalfields AMC were able to deliver hay out to a little town outside of Coonabarabran called Bugaldie. During this drop we wer...e able to supply our own Steve Fealy and around 20 other farmers with some much needed feed for their cattle. This has been able to happen because of the awesome support we received from all of you great people in aid of our AMC Bale Run. To see the sheer joy and appreciation on the faces of these farmers was pretty special. On behalf of Coalfields AMC and the farmers.......THANKYOU! See more

07.01.2022 As we are getting ready for our Christmas Party we want to thank all the people and organisations that have helped us through this very dry year. Your donations of groceries, hay, stock feed, gift cards, toys and mechanical services have made us smile and lightened our loads a little. We have enjoyed meeting you and sharing a drink and BBQ at the hall. Thank you for all you have done but especially for your friendship. We hope you have a happy Christmas and great New Year.... Here's to a wet 2019
06.01.2022 We've had a few reports of locusts in the Goorianawa valley near Coonabarabran this week. Landholder Ron Nash has experienced locusts before and was vigilent in... his reporting of these suspected plague locusts to our Biosecurity Officer Will Thorncraft which meant Will could assess the insects and get chemical to Ron the same day for quick control. If you suspect you've got locusts contact your local Biosecurity Officer on 1300 795 299. #StopTheHop #PlagueLocust #LocalLandServices #HereWhenItMatters See more

04.01.2022 The year is coming to a close and again we would like to send out thanks to everyone who has helped us as a community or as individuals. Our Christmas party was a great (but hot!) night, and was especially enjoyable thanks to the people and organisations who helped make it so. Thanks to Jo & Lindsay Wilkin, John Sawyer and the members of Rotary Club of Coonabarabran for proving the meat, salads and sweets. They were delicious. We are glad you were able to join us. Thanks to ...the Royal Show Society who donated the Santa gifts to the Coonabarabran Show committee who then distributed them to the surrounding villages to hand out at their Christmas Parties. Thanks to Rhonda, staff at Darcy Rd Public School, and the hundreds, if not thousands, of people who donated to the Ladies of the Land NSW. Brenda Baker from NALAG NSW delivered some boxes to the hall and they were handed out last night. Thanks to @The Rotary Club Of West Pennant Hills & Cherrybrook for the bags of goodies for men and women that Jo and her team brought to the party. These were donated by the members and also through the Rotary 'Tree of Joy' located at Cherrybrook Shopping Village. It has been another tough year but we have a lot to be thankful for. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See more
