25.01.2022 Really look forward to catching up with our good friends at the Southern ITF's Dojang in Lutana tonight. Nearly forty students attended the first inter style training session for 2020, focusing on sparring drills and breaking (Tameshiwari) techniques. A big thank you the Master Steve and the students of the SITF for their hospitality. We look forward training together soon. Cheers Sensei.

25.01.2022 Hi everyone, could you please share as much as possible. Cheers.

24.01.2022 Our new online Karate Courses are now up and running. We are now taking student registrations. If interested, please contact Sensei via e-mail. [email protected] to access the link, Cheers

24.01.2022 Presentation night for our senior grades was held at the Honbu tonight. Congratulations to all who passed their grading. Special mention to Sophie on her promotion to Shodan and to both Joshu Jamie and Joshu Leon on their promotion to Shodan-Ho, and finally to Sempai Adrian on his promotion to Nidan. Well done guys, such a great night! Sensei

24.01.2022 Hi everyone, just a reminder that Karate is on tomorrow, normal times. See you then, regards Sensei

24.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, at this stage, Bugeido WILL remain open. The size of both the Honbu (Mornington Dojo) and our Kingston Dojo easily meets the government requirement of 4 square metres per person. We have sanitizer, hand soap and paper towels available to students. The Honbu and equipment are cleaned and sanitised before and after use. Our lesson plans have been altered to allow 1.5m between students, as you can seen from the photos of classes last week. We are keeping... abreast of changes to regulations and will inform you all of any future changes. Finally, if you can get changed into your uniforms at home so as to avoid congestion in the change room area. Also, I need to point out that over 80% of students want to continue training and therefore I wish to support this. See you soon, Sensei.

23.01.2022 Our one and only grading for 2020 was held at the Honbu in Mornington today. I was very pleased with everyone's efforts and their professional approach to their grading. As always, a big thank you to my Yudansha, Sempai Jessey, Adrian, Louis and Andrew for their invaluable assistance. Well done everyone, cheers Sensei.

21.01.2022 Good evening everyone, we are now half way through the term. I know the lessons look very busy, however, you must appreciate that we have white belts to black belts using the online training. Each lesson takes up to 2 days to organise + the filming and editing. So there is no time to make separate lessons for the different grades. Having said this, I have been working on a Resource Book for both students and parents (Peewee age group), which has now been uploaded today along ...with a beginner's Peewee lesson. Even though the resource book is targeted towards children, it will be available to all students until a more suitable Junior/Adult version is ready. So far our team has made 134 videos for 14 Lessons + the Resource Book, which I am very grateful. Finally, we welcome "Joshu" Sophie (Provisional Black Belt) to our team. Sophie will be assisting the other Black Belt in reviewing your work. So well done everyone, and keep up your training. Cheers, Sensei

21.01.2022 Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Xmas and new year, Just a reminder that we are currently holding training on Monday evenings for our Juniors/seniors from 6-7.30pm. All other classes will start back from Monday 3rd of February, Cheers, Sensei

21.01.2022 Just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their assistance today and their help leading up to this grading. I also would like to thank my parents/guardians for their continued support for our school. We now have a healthy mix of age groups enrolled at Bugeido with nearly an even split between children and juniors/Seniors. Many of our students are now training more than once a week and most are now long term Karateka, with nearly 500 years collective training!! Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing you all at next week’s presentations. Cheers Sensei Mark

16.01.2022 I would like to take this opportunity to wish one of our most beloved member goodby and good luck for 2021 as he moves interstate to study at the QUT in Queensland. Sempai Louis will be greatly missed by all of us at Bugeido, as his contribution has been invaluable. Louis started with us 11 years ago and has consistently trained throughout this time. A particular favorite event was our trip to Japan in 2015, I will always have fond memories of his time with us. From all of us at Bugeido, Cheers, Sensei.

10.01.2022 Hi everyone, just an update on training. Firstly, I would like to welcome everyone back to training, including our new members. We have had a fantastic first couple of weeks, with most classes now fully booked out! The enthusiasm and energy from all of you have made training very rewarding. Also, I must thank both parents and students for their due diligence in adhering to our COVID-19 protocol and policies, it was very pleasing to see everyone following our new protocols. Finally, we have a new circuit training class for Juniors/Seniors starting this Monday (6-7pm), - no uniform required - however, you must book your place as placings are strictly limited. See you at training, Sensei.

09.01.2022 Online Karate Training - Registrations close shortly Currently we have 75 students enrolled in our an introductory or trial course. The purpose of this course is to identify any problems before we launch term2. In the meantime, for those of you who have yet to enroll, just register to the appropriate course, either Trial (Peewees 7-11yrs) for peewees or Trial (Junior/Senior) for Juniors/Seniors and follow this link https://training.bugeido.com/ and follow the prompts. Feed ba...ck so far has been that its easy to navigate, you don't need much download to access the videos, you can do this at your own pace, you don't need parental supervision, and you can attain credit for your work, in other words, be eligible to attempt the next grading. As for sparring, we will have instructional video in our Term2 course (done by our black belts) to help students maintain proficiency including reflex training. To help us give constructive critique of your work, we ask that you provide us (me) a video - up to 5 mins - of your basics/Kata. This can be done by uploading to our Bugeido group facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/441036199564205/ where all student work will be reviewed by myself and our black belt teachers - only the teachers can see students work.

04.01.2022 Our last week of the year was dedicated to our grading presentations. It was great to see so many parents/guardians attending, allowing me to catch up with everyone. Overall 2019 has been a stellar year, with enrollments up and more than half of our students are now training twice a week or more, which has reflected the strong performance at the grading. A particular highlight was the National All Styles Competition held in Melbourne, where we won 7 medals in Kata, point sparring and continuous sparring. Next year, both Sensei Neal and Sempai Brad will be accompanying us, which will be awesome. Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year. Cheers Sensei.
