23.01.2022 Rail Trail Funding Success South Gippsland Shire Council has been successful with its grant application for $800,000 for the Great Southern Rail Trail extension between Korumburra and Nyora. The funding was announced today by the Member for Eastern Victoria Jane Garrett MP under the Victorian Government’s 2020/21 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund. This funding will help make construction of the 21 kilometre gravel rail trail between Korumburra and Nyora a reality. This is in a...ddition to the $500,000 already received for the section between Leongatha and Korumburra and is another positive step toward transforming the Great Southern Rail Trail into one of the longest rail trails in Australia. With council also supporting the Wellington Shire Bid for funds to extend the trail further East we may soon see a trail from Nyora to Yarram and beyond!!

08.01.2022 An interactive website has been launched in South Gippsland, to help cyclists and road users identify danger hot spots. #9News | http://9News.com.au

07.01.2022 This is why forcing cyclists to wear helmets will not save lives. It's compulsory to do so in Australia and New Zealand but, as the Guardian's Peter Walker explains, this does not necessarily help save more lives in fact, some experts say it leads to more fatalities overall.

07.01.2022 I think this would be great to do in South Gippsland as well, anyone want to nominate roads that we should look at?
