08.01.2022 Interesting a bird can be taught to recycle but humans struggle with it. The phrase "bird brain" is used as an insult. Maybe it should be used as a compliment now.
07.01.2022 New security systems in place to stop people panic buying loo paper.

04.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
04.01.2022 Frog ID week. A great opportunity to get out this weekend and record some frog sounds and be a citizen scientist.
03.01.2022 As many of you know I'm in a wheelchair, born with spina bifida. When I started out doing bugs about I knew I would be a so called "inspiration" to people even though I don't think I am, I'm simply getting paid for what I love. However truth is that through Bugs About whilst teaching kids about bugs I've also achieved being able to show children that someone with a disability can be part of the community, can have a job, can be accepted. Through Bugs About i have helped kids ...with a disability see that they too can make an impact in this world and do what they desire even when the world says they can't. For this opportunity im eternally greatful. This year has been on bugger of a year (pun very much intended) for many people but I know for those of us with a disability it may have been even harder than others, an increase risk of infection, great chance of unemployment, greater social isolation and mental health and the list goes on. For my friends (including the kids who I have met through Bugs About) and family with a disability as I write this I think of you and am truly grateful for you all. It's been a tough slog this year for you and your families. Keep going strong. #internationaldayofpersonswithdisabilities #able #capable #inclusion #2020 #grateful #bugsabout #spinabifida #acceptance
02.01.2022 Those hairy legs
01.01.2022 There are definitely more than 12 lady beetles at this picnic! These lady beetles (Harmonia conformis) have gathered in their thousands at Mount Ainslie Looko...ut in Canberra (elevation 843 m). Our beetle researcher, Dr Adam Slipinski, believes this increase may be due to the recent rains. As a result, they may have been feasting on aphids. There are around 40 thousand described beetle species in Australia and many more that don’t yet have scientific names. : Richard Wild #CSIROCollections
