My dream was to take a photo similar to the one published by @studioroof, with a cute little kid looking at his collection on the wall and with his mouth opened out of astonishment! ... 07.01.2022 Ant or spider ? What about both? When I found this little guy I thought that was an ant, but after looking carefully I noticed that was an ant mimic jumping spider. Myrmarachne is the Australian genus of the most convincing ant mimics. Males have elongated chelicerae (fangs) that resemble the big mandibles of some ants. They also have a lower region in the cephalothorax and a constriction in the abdomen resembling the propodeum and gaster of an ant. He thinks that is a rea...l ant! I gave him one of my baby crickets from my cricket farm, just to keep it quiet for the video. You can see its fangs stabbing the cricket to inject venom that will turn the internal tissues of the cricket into liquid. He will drink those juices and that's the way that most spiders eat!
