25.01.2022 Another fine example of an ‘I don’t give a shit’ insulation installation in a brand new home.

24.01.2022 Most people will be working their heat pumps pretty hard this year. Make sure you get the most out of it by giving it a bit of love. https://www.choice.com.au//how-to-clean-your-air-condition

24.01.2022 A great explanation of why we are still building deficient housing in Australia. https://onestepoffthegrid.com.au/even-with-rooftop-solar-b/

23.01.2022 Got a great result on a new home build with the blower door and thermal camera today. The clients and builder were keen to locate and seal any air leakage ingress in the building envelope prior to plasterboard installation tomorrow.

23.01.2022 A great blog by Andrew on his blower door test by Building eValuate at his new home build. https://andrewheardsotherblog.home.blog//11/05/all-uptight/

22.01.2022 Office closed tomorrow

21.01.2022 Hhhmmm, I’m not so sure about this. Major defect or safety hazard?

21.01.2022 Building eValuate staff party. Merry Christmas to all

20.01.2022 This heralds a shift in the right direction. Finally... https://www.domain.com.au//clean-energy-finance-corporati/

19.01.2022 I found Santa shirking his responsibilities hanging about under a house in West Moonah this morning.

19.01.2022 These are the days when solar passive zero energy houses rock. The sun heats the concrete floors, charges the batteries, heats the hot water and runs the coffee machine. Totally stoked

13.01.2022 Aaahhh, the last piece in the puzzle that is our zero energy home

12.01.2022 I’ve been travelling in Japan with the family for a couple of weeks. The quality of work and attention to detail here is outstanding. This is a re-roof job on a temple entrance in Nagano. It’s all hand beaten copper....

12.01.2022 Having a dead deer poking its head out over your bed is just a bit weird. There, I said it. Its a Tasmanian thing that's been troubling me for some time.

12.01.2022 If you home has halogen downlights installed like this, you should make sure that your insurance policy is up to date....

12.01.2022 Done and dusted. The 4th and final battery is installed and charging from the sun. We still don’t have handles on the cupboards but we’ve got power to burn

11.01.2022 Some good general advice on reducing the smoke infiltration in your home. We also need to consider mandating air tightness standards in new buildings. https://theconversation.com/our-buildings-arent-made-to-kee

11.01.2022 Well it’s not so bad working from home. I’ve been operating Building eValuate for 12 years now. It’s a great business and I enjoy most of the day to day challenges. COVID19 will set me back a bit financially but I’ve been there before and got through it. I am still operating my energy assessment business as normal. In my downtime I’ll be spamming Architects and Building Designers to encourage them to send work my way.... My building inspection services will be limited to vacant properties only until further notice. I hope all my loyal Facebook friends are going OK. Paul See more

06.01.2022 Getting great results from our moderate sized solar installation. 92% energy self sufficiency in mid-winter is better than I was expecting. Hey Aurora, get the cheque book ready for summer!

06.01.2022 The manager is in a meeting in the Derwent room. Try again later

04.01.2022 A great quote from Richard Keech. A six-star home is the worst-performing house you can legally build in Australia

04.01.2022 We retuned from our Japan trip prior to the governments self-isolation cut off. Even though, we have decided to stay at home for 14 days for a number of reasons. We are all fine. We have access to home shopping, I am doing consulting work from home and the kids think it is great.
