25.01.2022 Do you feel like a visit to the theatre? If you’re in the Busselton area on Sunday the 16th of June, why not support Nurture Works by coming to a matinee performance of Grand, Mad and Tantalising, a Season of three one-act plays presented by the Busselton Repertory Club. Tickets are $20 each and include a scrumptious afternoon tea at intermission. Part of the proceeds will go to Nurture Works to support our great cause. 15.01.2022 Farewell from Mim - Today marked my last day with BUZ Nurture Works. I have experienced five years of deep learning about individual children and how to power hope in them all. I have read case files that made me cry, watched children flourish on camps and in programs and supported parents, chaplains and teachers in understanding their role in children's lives. What an honour! Thanks to all of the hive members who have supported me, both professionally and personally. And to the young people, including the awesome youth mentors, it has been an honour. May your path be blessed with hope.

13.01.2022 BUZ Together is an awesome social and emotional well-being program designed for years four and five. The training is on Tuesday August 27th at Southcare 9.30am til 3pm. Program outcomes include- SKILLS FOR COOPERATING AND RELATING WITH OTHERS The Focus of the BUZ Together program is to develop social skills Especially skills to enable children to build and maintain successful relationships, cooperation and problem solving skills. 12.01.2022 With SBS bringing 'The Hunting' to our tv, it is a good time to remind you BUZ can help! BUZ recently researched and developed a digital safety workshop for parents, building on that we now offer a workshop for staff and children. The idea is we come in and do a 45 minute workshop with the year fives and sixes (separately) and then an after school PD with staff (one hour) and then a two hour workshop with the parents. This is a fabulous way to make sure everyone in the school... understand the challenges faced by digital children and their families. The cost of the workshops are as follows Children $150 per class, Staff $150 and parents $300. So $600 in total, a very small investment for a school to make. The workshops talk to children about their digital life and empowers them to make good digital choices, guiding their choices of friends and online behaviour as well as discussing the dangers of social media apps. The parent and staff workshop builds on all of this as well as guiding parents on how to effectively supervise their children’s online behaviour, including setting up restrictions to block unwanted material. The feedback from these workshops has been fantastic, with many parents expressing gratitude in supporting their ability to navigate the digital world. 05.01.2022 BUZ Nurture Works has created a unique opportunity to train in two programs on the one day. Feel Safe Feel Right is the protective behaviours program for year two and three children. This essential 2.5 hour program gives children the necessary life skills to deal with unsafe and inappropriate behaviours. With the increase in online grooming and exposure to sexual content modern children are more at risk than they have ever been. This program delivers protective behaviours lea...rning in a fun and age appropriate way. With great ideas for educators and ongoing frameworks to protect our kids. BUZ Hope is a grief and loss program designed for years three to five children. The program helps children understand the storms in life that they will face and how to get through these times well. It delivers ways to remain mentally healthy and see the positives in tough experiences. With a mindful approach to adversity, this program gives children the skills they need to develop a healthy resilient attitude to grief, loss and change.
