23.01.2022 ENSW ANNOUNCEMENT RE COVID-19 VIRUS In response to directions and advice from government, the Board of Equestrian NSW has taken the very difficult decision to s...trongly recommend that all events be cancelled with immediate effect. The government advice has been to minimise social contact and non-essential travel. The pressure on emergency services means that ambulances may not be available to attend events to treat serious injuries. In this situation, the responsible decision is to take all action necessary not to further burden the emergency services or risk members' safety at events. Equestrian NSW will also ask the NSW Office of Sport to underwrite all losses that our clubs and organising committees suffer as a result of cancelling events due to the Covid-19 virus. We thank all our members, organising committees, officials and volunteers for their understanding and support during these unprecedented times. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you all as soon as we have any further information. PETER DINGWALL Board President

12.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE The NSW Government has announced that adult community sporting competitions and full training can recommence from Wednesday 1 Jul 20. This mean...s that both junior and senior competitions can recommence at the same time. It is important that organising committees have COVID-19 Safety Plans to ensure that competitors, officials, volunteers and spectators are protected and that they understand their responsibilities (eg not attending if sick, social distancing, hand sanitisation and not sharing equipment). Equestrian NSW is drafting template safety plans and has COVID-19 kits (signage, wipes, and hand sanitiser), which will be available free of charge to affiliated clubs from next week. Feedback is welcomed, so please comment here, call the office on 9620 2660 or email [email protected]. BRUCE FARRAR - Chief Executive Officer

09.01.2022 EA Recommends No Events for Next Four Weeks Equestrian Australia and our affiliated State Branches have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Aust...ralia and are in regular consultation with the FEI, the Australian Institute of Sport, the Australian Olympic Committee and national and state health authorities. Last Friday the FEI recommended the cancellation of all equestrian events for the next four weeks. Currently, the Australian Government has placed limits on non-essential organised gatherings of more than 500 people. We therefore strongly recommend that organising committees should not hold events run under EA sport rules for the next four weeks. This is a fluid and constantly changing situation and the health and welfare of our community is the highest priority. Organisers of events involving less than 500 people should consider this recommendation in accordance with local conditions and Federal and State Governments' advice. All members should follow public health procedures, including practising good hand and respiratory hygiene, limiting contact with other people and reducing unnecessary travel. We thank you for your understanding and support during this unprecedented situation. EA will continue to monitor the situation and responses from Governments and update you as more information becomes available.
