21.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS - GREENS RENOVATION HAS COMMENCED AT BULIMBA BOWLO! We're restoring Green #1 to its former glory for competition play! Work commenced in late December and is progressing rapidly.... So far we have completed: SOIL TESTS - To let us know how best to treat the greens AERATION - The aeration process helps relieve the compaction caused by traffic. It also helps create a firm, smooth bowling surface by controlling thatch and promoting healthy turf roots GROOMING - Removes horizontal runners and organic material if done regularly. When these are removed the turf is stimulated to develop new growing points from the crown, which is basically the stem. This removal of horizontal growth encourages vertical growth. FERTILIZING - To promote vigorous growth of the turf. TOP DRESSING - To encourage new growth and create a level playing surface We expect to have the renovation completed by March 2021 BAREFOOT BOWLS - Green #2 is being improved and is available for Barefoot Bowls as we move forward and the Barefoot Bowls will continue to be FREE into the New Year!
