23.01.2022 By early next year this humble little donger will be a proper clubhouse. That's because two clubs - Bulimba Cricket Club and Bulimba Bulls Hockey Club - have jo...ined forces. And they've got grants from every level of Government to help make their dream come true. Terri Butler MP, Councillor Kara Cook - Morningside Ward and I have been working with these two amazing clubs for a long time to help them get to this point. We were so excited to see the final plans. It's so good for all our local kids! Well done to the club members - Linda Francis and Justin Harper especially - for being so clever. #communitysport

Both teams made the top 4 but lost to the eventual winner - Wide Bay. 15.01.2022 Yesterday it was the turn of Bulimba’s J1s to play an invitational match against a high powered Toowoomba side. Toowoomba prevailed 3-1 in a tight contest. Bulimba nominated Will Ready as Toowoomba's best player while Toowoomba recognised Sean Doyle’s outstanding performance for Bulimba. 11.01.2022 Prior to the school holidays a number of our Bulimba Bulls competed at the Queensland Secondary Schools Championships in Rockhampton. After these championships a Merit QLD team was selected for 17 - 19 years (they would normally of Toured New Zealand) and the Bulls were well represented with selection for Damian Rapisardi, Jay Woosnam, Reilly Newberry and Kipp Thrupp. Congratulations to the above players and all the other Bulls that competed at the Championships.

08.01.2022 Last Saturday 22 August, our Division 1 Men defeated Valley 7-2. This game has significant meaning to both Clubs in that they play annually for the Sasha Hawgood Memorial Trophy. Sasha was an integral part of both Clubs: she was involved in hockey for many years as a player for Valley Hockey Club and she also represented Brisbane at junior level. She was a dedicated technical bench official for Brisbane hockey games. Sasha could always be seen around the Bulimba Hockey Club, either supporting father Geoff or her younger siblings, Robert and Ella.

07.01.2022 ... and that's a wrap! After three years of planning, grant writing, sausage sizzles and other fundraising ventures, the Bulls and Bulimba Cricket Club have a Clubhouse. Furniture still to come but we now have a home. Grants were received from all 3 levels of Government including Stronger Communities Program (Round 5) Terri Butler MP Gambling Community Benefit Fund Di Farmer MP Lord Mayor's Community Fund - Morningside Councillor Kara Cook - Morningside Ward and Lord Mayor's COVID-19 Direct Assistance Program 2020/21. Jen was a hockey supporter through and through. Jen lost her battle with cancer on the 5th September, surrounded by her loving family.
