19.01.2022 Struggling with foggy glasses while wearing your mask? Try these tips! Make sure your mask fits nice and snug. A loose mask that results in gaps near your cheeks or nose will allow the warm air to escape. Try adjusting the elastic/ties to tighten and if your mask has a wire insert, shape the wire so it bends around your nose. Sit your glasses on top of your mask, rather than underneath. Fold a piece of tissue into a small strip and place (or tape) to the top edge of your mask before you put it on.

Make sure your glasses are sitting on top of your mask, not underneath.... If your mask has a wire insert, shape the wire so it's nice and snug against your nose and cheeks. 12.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day! Today we wanted to shine a light on one of the pioneers of optics, Dr. Anna Estelle Glancy. Dr. Glancy was a brilliant mathematician and scientist in the field of eyewear lens design. She was instrumental in the creation of the most significant corrective lens in the 1920’s - The Tillyer lens.... She was granted a patent for the first progressive lens design in 1923 and developed the first lensmeter to measure the power of a spectacle lens, an essential piece of equipment used in optical practices today. #IWD2021

Myopia (also called short-sightedness or near-sightedness) causes people to have problems seeing clearly in the distance. Family history The likelihood of children developing myopia is 1 in 3 when one parent is myopic and 1 in 2 when both parents are myopic Lifestyle Prolonged time reading and doing near visual tasks including using digital devices and computers Environment Insufficient time spent outdoors and reduced exposure to natural light.

06.01.2022 Did you know when using digital screens our blink rate decreases by about 50%? July is Dry Eye Awareness month and this year the focus is on lifestyle changes due to COVID-19 and the impact on vision. With many of us spending more time indoors over the last few months, our screen time has increased. Why is blinking so important? With every blink your eyelids spread a fresh layer of tears across the surface of your eyes to keep them moist, comfortable, with clear vi...sion. Less blinking can result in dry eye with symptoms such as stinging, burning, grittiness, dryness, redness, blurry vision, or watery eyes. If you're ready to get your dry eye under control, we can help! 08 9332 7222 [email protected] : @made_by_helga on Instagram See more

02.01.2022 Hitting the beach this long weekend? While it may be convenient, swimming while wearing your contact lenses, including daily disposable lenses, is a no go! Exposure to any form of water, including oceans, swimming pools and yes, even tap water, can result in a nasty infection, irritation or corneal ulcer. A keen swimmer who needs some vision correction? Think about investing in some prescription swimming goggles.
01.01.2022 Like our skin, the colour of our eyes is determined by the amount of pigment, or melanin, that is within the iris. The more melanin, the darker the eyes. The less melanin present, the lighter the eyes. Eye colour can change slightly for some people as they age, but this should be a gradual transition. Any sudden colour changes in one or both eyes can can be a sign of a serious eye disease such as Fuch's heterochromic iridocyclitis, Horner's syndrome, or pigmentary glaucoma.
