23.01.2022 Adult classes are running! We will minimise close-contact training for a little bit, and focus on weapons practice, footwork, drills, and individual ukemi practice. Grading prep will include general discussions around your training needs, so bring a notebook to capture ideas and strategies. We will continue to follow our COVID Safe plan for your protection. I will wear a mask, feel free to wear a mask if you want to as well. Do not come to class if your are sick, and do not attend if you have been exposed to any event in the contact tracing list (this list is growing, so please check it every day before class)

18.01.2022 We couldn't go to Sydney Spring Camp this year because of Unusual Circumstances, so we held our senior belt gradings at UQ! Congratulations to all those from Bullockhead Creek, Aikido Brisbane, and UQ dojos who tested for 2nd and 1st Kyu, and also for 6th Kyu! It was a very hot afternoon, and ukes worked very hard! Thank you to James Moss for teaching and overseeing the gradings, to Steve Henderson for hosting, and to Ian Newton for bringing his Lismore crew to join us! It was an awesome day :)

14.01.2022 We've been spending a bit of time each class this week learning how to fold hakama Mariko has offered to fold mine at the end of each class for a long time now, and has become proficient at folding it beautifully. The first few times, not so good. But now, amazing. It only takes practice, and the best time to start is white belt. Find a black belt's hakama to practice on, at the end of each class.

12.01.2022 We had the most ever students from the most ever dojos attend our twice-yearly brown and black belts workshop at UQ dojo yesterday! That was a long sentence. It was a long day! 13 on the mats for 4 hours of intensive training, we certainly worked hard! Thank you James Moss from Aikido Kokikai Brisbane for excellent instruction! Thank you Steve Henderson from UQ Aikido for hosting! And thank you Ian Newton from Lismore Aikido for bringing your contingent as well
