19.01.2022 #whywarri #nowthisisprogress the NSW Government has sealed right to our QLD border gate. The DTMR’s South West Regional Transport Plan identifies the Warri Gate... Road cross-border connection as a medium to long term goal. This goal forms part of Priority 2 A transport system that enhances liveability through connected communities. Cross border connections enhance the liveability of regional communities by: Providing transport options for users that fit the region’s context Connectivity communities across and outside the region Enhancing regional amenity through high quality desire and user experience The Warri Gate Road Cross Border Connection will also bring financial benefits to the region. Connecting the NSW Silver City Highway to the Queensland Road Network indicates that there will be significant cost and time saving for heavy vehicle transport operators when Warri Gate Road and the associated Silver City Highway are completely sealed. #thatswhy https://www.traveller.com.au/nsw-outback-roads-broken-hill- Visit Quilpie Shire - Your Outback Adventure Murweh Shire Council My Maranoa Longreach Regional Council Diamantina Shire Council Barcoo Shire Council Blackall -Tambo Visitor Information Central Highlands Regional Council Southern Downs Regional Council Banana Shire Council Toowoomba Region AgForce Queensland Santos: Proudly Australian Eromanga Natural History Museum Bulloo River Hotel Motel (The Home of Surly Shirley) Cameron Dick MP Mark Bailey MP - Labor for Miller Stirling Hinchliffe MP Deb Frecklington MP Steve Minnikin MP Michael McCormack MP Simon Birmingham Lachlan Millar MP Mark Coulton MP Department of Transport and Main Roads (Queensland) Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Andrew Constance MP Gladys Berejiklian ABC Western Queensland Jason Clare Mark Furner MP for Ferny Grove Robbie Katter MP Glenn Butcher - Member for Gladstone Regional Development Australia - Central and Western Queensland Experience Outback Queensland, Australia Tim Mander MP - State Member for Everton Tony Perrett Andrew Powell MP Ann Leahy Annastacia Palaszczuk MP Kate Jones Dr Anthony Lynham MP Broken Hill City Council Tibooburra Hotel Scott Buchholz MP Road Boss Rally GIVIT

11.01.2022 Positive Psychology and How to Live a More Fulfilling Life presented by Karen Sherlock Traditionally, psychology has focused on what contributes to mental unwellness and how to assist people to get well. However, whilst around 25% of the population suffer mental illness at any given time, what about the 75% that remain mentally well? Positive psychology is a new and exciting area of research in the field of psychology. It came about from studying why some people become ment...ally unwell and others manage to breeze their way through the same difficulties and often thrive. Positive psychologists focus on the mentally well group of people in order to determine what makes them more resilient and resistant to mental unwellness. Their years of research have found some incredibly powerful yet simple tasks that not only keep people mentally well but allow them to live a more fulfilling and satisfying life. You can now learn this too. During this session you will learn: What positive psychology is and is not. What is wellbeing? The key components of wellbeing. How to practically apply the key components for increased fulfillment, satisfaction and enjoyment. How to determine your VIA (Values In Action) strengths and implement them more often. 09.01.2022 UPDATE: PLANNED OUTAGE CANCELLED The word from the Bureau of Meteorology is that it's going to be an absolute stinker with heat wave conditions like...ly to sweep through the South West this weekend. We've listened to our customers and stakeholders and won't be doing this job this weekend so everyone - including our crews - can do their best to keep their cool. We'll give plenty of notice when we reschedule for it to be done. *** Earlier advice (pre-cancellation) ATTN FAR SOUTH WEST: This Sunday, we get to the pointy end of months of essential maintenance, meaning we need to take Charleville substation offline for around three hours. Power will be interrupted from 9am Sunday to all customers in and around Charleville, Cunnamulla, Augathella, Eulo, Thargomindah, Quilpie, Eromanga, Adavale and Cheepie. It’s going to be a scorcher and we know it’s tough to be without power; however, this is important work that we simply can’t do ‘live’. Our local crews like Mathew Armstrong and Damian Watts (pictured), plus the specialist substation team heading out from Toowoomba, will get this safely done as quickly as possible, so we can all get out of the heat. We posted notifications to affected customers a few weeks ago, and a big thanks everyone for your understanding and patience. Access is via Thargomindah or Eromanga / Quilpie on a sealed road with only 14km of u...nsealed road going through Nappa Merrie station. As you'll see in the video, it's even accessible by motorhome. It's hard to explain but you actually get a sense of what it would have been like during the ill fated Burke & Wills Expedition when explore the new interpretive signage. It doesn't just have to be a day trip either. You can set up camp close by, near the river, and have a little expedition of your own. There is a conservation fee of $20 per vehicle, or $60 for buses, which goes toward maintaining these magnificent trees and grounds.
