25.01.2022 Some of our members enjoying the generous donation (new table and chairs) from our local IGA in Bullsbrook before the social distance was a thing. A bit different, but now, forming a critical part of the frontline in these crazy times. Please keep supporting our local IGA.

25.01.2022 Ta daaaaa. Rock up with your family and friends and have a roll up. Great priced burgers and chips. Cold beer. Challenge ya mates for bragging rights or even for a beer. Ask for a game against a penants player. Husband versus wife. However you want. See you there!

24.01.2022 Today we had 3 teams of pairs having a crack at state pairs today. No cigars but 90% of the time I feel we held our heads high against some of the best in the business. The greens were fantastic at wanneroo and it ran really well. It was a good day to get some more invaluable experience on grass greens against some top players. Well done to Carel, George(yooooouu beuuuuty), Joe, Papa, a1 and a2. Special mention to Sue and Steph for looking fantastic in the cheer leading outfits but woeful at getting us beers

23.01.2022 Well our first open night of bare foot bowls to the public was pretty good. Hopefully they spread the word and it sees us with more people there and builds fortnight by fortnight. I’d like to take a second to thank Beau for his help in the kitchen. Jock for his help being a runner to the bbq and also doing odd jobs. A1 for his superb bbq skills. Chantel for her help behind the bar and cleaning. Craig for help setting up what he could outside. Tracy for doing the orders. Ste...phanie as usual with her bar work and clean up. And to anyone else that pitched in that I didn’t get chance to see doing what they were doing. The feedback was positive so let’s build it from here. Cheers all A2 See more

23.01.2022 Not many photos as such but Saturday seen us make the trek to bayswater to play. We had a skeleton crew this week with Christmas commitments for a lot of players but it didn’t damper our spirit. So much so that 3 out of 4 rinks came away with a healthy win. Even better because the wind was howling and we played on the grass green that a few of their members said they didn’t play there often they play on the synthetic... On a side note their club is pumping with social members and such now. Private events are happening there too with a band setting up whilst we were there. They have also done a great job with an area for the kids to play as well. Future ideas mr pres? Also congrats to Craig for his first roll for men’s penants.

20.01.2022 Hello hello and ho ho ho. Just to give a bit of notice the Xmas bash this year will have an event called stealing santa. Each person going will need to buy and wrap a present of some sort to the value of $20.00 It can be anything from useful to weird to awesome to a six pack of beer. All presents will go on the table. Now say there are 40 people. I will put 40 raffle tickets in a bucket and give each person one. I’ll draw the first one and that person walks up, unwraps the... present for all to see and takes a seat. Next ticket is drawn. Now. That person may like number 1’s present and take that from them. So person 2 sits down with the gift and person 1 picks another and unwraps it for all to see and sits down. Say person 3,4,5 and 6 all choose to unwrap a present but number 7 really wants the gift that number 2 stole. They may steal that present again. But. Once a present has been stolen for the second time it becomes claimed for good. Unluckiest person is number 1. Luckiest is the last person unless something has been claimed for good. Makes for a fun time and puts a spin on having to get something for someone you know nothing about. Cheers guys Mark See more

18.01.2022 Week 13 Mens Bowls We took a trip down to Warwick today Very overcast when we arrived Well we started the game the sky actually opened up for the best part of the first half of the game rain yep rain... Well that made conditions pretty different especially on grass for the most Rinks were fairly even across the green except one that didnt start too well The rain did clear and conditions did improve and the Warwick boys werent going down without a fight As the game drew to an end one rink won there game on the final end Another also had a good win by a few shot With two rinks to finish the aggregate was close but the third rink was just not up to the conditions and could compete with the Warwick and took a big loss but hung in With the last rink still to finish the aggregate was still very close they needed 2 shots on the last end to secure the aggregate win The last bowl was played and the end result Final score 1 to 7 in favour to Bullsbrook Fantastic result after trying conditions and a never give in team effort Well done boys

And you know what a little lad Beau and his lady Chantel took this day too also tie the knot So a big Congratulations to you both Chantel and Beau on your special day Anyway we came down to contest our game 3rd v 4th on the ladders and with a few lads out with the wedding we still had a good spread of players just !! We had to borrow a player last minute to fill our team but we made it Game commenced on a heavy green with a steady sea breeze all day long, most rinks were fairly close across the green for the first half of the game with one rink a little undermanned thats how it goes with the shortages but the Bully Spirit was strong we didnt give in Once we completed about 19 ends one our loosing rink had faught back from a big loss to a single figures loss after some great bowls The the next rink had a comfortable win and the next had a excellent tussle to the last end and took the win and the last rink had a solid win so a magic Bully Team effort Final score 1 v 7 in favor Bullsbrook Well done lads super effort Sorry gang about the lack of pics but the bowls took priority today and got a couple of after ones last minute Cheerz

03.01.2022 Week 16 Mens Bowls Well we started with a very poor forcast today and a very overcast day it turned out to be The sky was very dark and bleak all day long and was threatening to drop a heap of rain ... Well we started the game with one of our players running extremely late, so the game started and the late skip had to play without a rollup naughty boy he was !! sorry lads Well the game commenced and the games were fairly even across the green with one rink seem to get off to a flying start The sky still looming we were all expecting the worst but the rain held off, we only had really light rain for a few ends throughout the game Well the as the game was progressed the that first rink had a commanding lead the second was battling up and down the third was not doing so well but still in with a chance and the fourth rink was in a good position Coming to the second half of the game and the first rink seem to have a bit of a nap and the opposing side cut their lead dramatically and the second rink was still up and down in a battle the third rink had faught their way back from a big deficate to a even score and the fourth rink had a comfortable lead Going into the last few ends we all dug deep and kept our composure and rinks 1 managed to keep there noses in front rink 2 went down by a couple rink 3 managed to pull off a draw on the last end and rink 4 had a great win Final score 6.5 to 1.5 to Bullsbrook Super effort again this week fellas 2 weeks to go and we are placed well on the ladder lets keep the Bully spirit going

03.01.2022 Evening gang Men's bowls round 1 Well today was a wonderful day for bowls, a lovely day infact weather wise Well the boys for Bassendean came up for a visit and a game ... The game was fairly even after the start, but after a few ends Andy's teams pulled away and had a pretty good win Mid game both Goerge and Brett's team dropped a couple of big scores simultaneously and the aggregate was looking a bit shacky Carel's team was steady all arvo and also had a solid win Brett's team dug in and managed to scrap there way back to a 3 shot loss and George's team did the same but they did one better and came back with a brilliant draw So after the dust settled and with Andy's great win and Carel's solid win the aggregate was safe Bullsbrook 6 1/2 to Basso 1 1/2 Thanks to Craig for the pics today was to busy trying to fight back to take any pics so good onya Cobb

03.01.2022 Ladies Bowls 2019 - 2020 season Final game Well ladies today the ladies cames from Bedford to play in the terribly gloomy overcast humid conditions ... The rain held off as it did for the guys but we did have a couple of very light showers during the coarse of the game just enough to see a few rain jackets come out of the bags Well the girls had a great tussle against a good team played in good spirit 1st rink was looking to be having a good tussle and a close game 2nd rink was also but in the second half the opposition pulled away 1st rink was able to hold themselves to a 2 shot win and the 2nd rink wasnt so lucky When the final bowl came to rest the result was 1 to 3 in favour to Bedford Well ladies congratulations on the season you had a very hard season with your nominated promotion by the club Dont be disappointed but take what you learnt this season as a big learning experience and dont be disappointed please, the club is very proud of you all for the effort you all put in to try to achieve the standard of bowls to play in the division Keep your heads up high I am certain you will all come back better next season Well done

02.01.2022 So Saturday we all put the saddles on our donkeys, filled the water bags, and headed down the lonely dirt road south to play the basso bandits. We were to play on c green which I’m pretty sure was where the council emptied the greens trucks when they pick up all the leaves. However the ploy didn’t deter us and we rose up. Up like those magnificent men in their flying machines did. And we gave them a show of dominance. With a good healthy win across 3 rinks and only a tiny loss on one. Well done men. And Thankyou to the cheer squad we had with us as well. Even the angry lady. Who is always angry. Well at me anyway

02.01.2022 So the Sunday before Xmas was our annual festive wind up. We had santa come visit for the little ones. He had a very well dressed up elf who just would t be an elf if he wasn’t put on the shelf!!! We had an awesome bbq dinner. Amazing salads. We played stealing Santa this year which got a lot of laughs and shenanigans. But also we played our day for absent friends. Winners were Carel and Jock for the day. ... Thanks to all those who helped. To all those who came. And even more to those who left at the end of the night Cheers all Mark See more

02.01.2022 The weather was much kinder to us today after a week of blistering heat and bushfires. However it didn’t stop the water bombers landing outside the clubhouse whilst our members battled it out in handicapped pairs. There was some motley crews out there today I tell you. There were war cries! Screaming! Shouting! And that was just from Susan So battle we did and today’s runners up were Beau and Sandy and yes I changed the order of the names because we are all about equal... opportunity And the winners today were Stopsy and Carel. Magnificent looking beasts. Shame about the numpty doing the photo bomb and someone forgot to take the tree down See more

01.01.2022 Just another note to congratulate Charmian, Beau and Andy, representing Bullsbrook in the state games. I have to specially mention and congratulate Andy on his performance over the weekend. Coming through the sectional play undefeated is a record for Bullsbrook BUT reaching the semifinals is definitely History and a huge achievement. One of his wins was against Bowls WA bowler of the year and unfortunately lost against the overall winner. Well done Andy. Saturday the men ...is in the play-off for promotion so good luck to all. As you know by now, Barry is up for Bowls WA coach of the year and we wish him all the luck on the night. We also made a name for ourselves in Dongara, but that is another story. Not bad for a small club. Proud to be a member. Carel See more
