23.01.2022 Today is World Kindness Day - a day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. The purpose of today is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together. This understanding has the power to bridge the gap between nations too. Let's pause today and consciously reflect on times when we have been shown kindness, and think about ways in which we can treat others kindly.... Bully Zero acknowledges its partnership with Kind is cool. Kind is Cool fund the delivery of our Bullying Prevention Programs to schools across Australia and work with us to spread the kindness message. Visit https://kindiscool.com.au/ for more information and to purchase your Kind is Cool tee.
22.01.2022 National Bullying Prevention Week is a wrap! It was incredible last week to see individuals, schools and workplaces right across the country getting together to have important conversations about how we prevent bullying in Australia. It was a great start to the week to see many people engage with our fantastic speakers at the No More Harm Conference. Whilst it was a little different being online, it was a helpful reminder that there are many people, across many settings worki...ng hard to prevent bullying. On Wednesday, we were really excited to launch our new mascot, Hiro and SuperHiro Wednesday - a fun day of dress up with an important bullying prevention message! We will release photos soon of the amazing costumes across many schools and workplaces. And to end the week, our inaugural Busk4Change - a live stream concert to help raise awareness and funds to support our bullying prevention work across Australia. We want to thank everyone in our community, including our wonderful Ambassadors for supporting our campaign and taking action to help end bullying in Australia. Lock in the date for next year: 15 - 19 November 2021!

17.01.2022 We are delighted to be hosting the Bully Zero No More Harm (virtual) Conference next week. A 70% increase in bullying has been reported during the COVID-19 pandemic. These destructive behaviours are extremely concerning and means that bullying prevention is something we need to talk about now more than ever. Whilst we've had to take the conference online this year due to COVID-19, we have some amazing speakers who are actively making a positive impact on preventing bullying. ...This will be a real opportunity to learn practical tools to create change in the workplace, school, sports field or the wider community. We are pleased to confirm Dr Skye Saunders, Associate Professor (Law), UNE Law School as the MC for the event. Dr Skye commented: "I am delighted to join you once again for the national No More Harm Summit, which is an opportunity for us to come together to amplify the strength that comes from human diversity, whether it be of culture, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation, religion, social background or thought. It's not too late to register be part of the solution - go to https://lnkd.in/gpZs2sq #nmh2020 #UAB2020

13.01.2022 HELP US LAUNCH A NATIONAL BULLYING ADVICE LINE Some victims of bullying are so tormented that suicide has become their only option. Allem Halkic, was one such victim who at the tender age of seventeen, took his own life after being harassed online. Allem’s tragic story, amongst others, was the catalyst to launching Bully Zero in 2013. The extent of the desperation faced by many parents was highlighted in a recent report in which key findings highlighted:... - Australian parents are crying out for more help to address and prevent childhood bullying as research shows one in five report one or more of their children was bullied in the last school term. - Almost every parent (89%) of a child who was bullied said the experience had affected the whole family. - One in six parents had felt physically sick, and one in five felt depressed or anxious. - Almost half (48%) worried about the long-term effects of bullying on their child, while many were angry (44%) and frustrated at being unable to help (44%). - One in three (32%) felt guilty for not being able to stop the bullying while one in four felt helpless (28%). Whilst there are an array of counselling helplines and online resources that victims of bullying can access such as Kids Helpline, Lifeline, Beyond Blue, none of these services specialise in bullying or provide broader support, information or guidance to young people and adults on what action they can take to help them address the bullying they, or their children, are facing. With your help, Bully Zero will create the only National Advice Line specialising in bullying prevention. We also plan to develop an App for all members of the community with information, resources and videos to support those experiencing bullying. We will partner with crisis and counselling helplines to ensure those requiring these services are appropriately referred and supported. During National Bullying Prevention Week, Bully Zero is launching our "Cyberbullying Hurts too" campaign to raise $15,000 to help develop and launch the National Advice Line and App. Your donation can help save a life. 09.01.2022 Our amazing Ambassador Esma Voloder was critical in helping to bring HIRO our new bullying prevention mascot to life. Please take some time out to watch this incredible interview by Christy Johns from Australian Online News. We are so grateful for your support in the lead up to National Bullying Prevention Week. HIRO will play an instrumental role in helping us to build an emotional connection with our stakeholders and the community (young and old), generate brand awareness, ...fundraising and, most importantly, promote our key messages. Many of you have been asking why is HIRO spelled with an I - the I emphasises our individual roles and responsibility when it comes to kindness and being respectful, as well as the simple fact that each one of us matters. It's not too late to register and participate in SUPERHIRO Wednesday. Visit our website for more information. Bully Zero would like to acknowledge Australian Online News for supporting our upcoming National Bullying Prevention Week. Esma - thank you for all that you do. You are a true HIRO Thank you
