24.01.2022 I BIRTHDAY BOY REQUEST I Hey Bumble Bee Community! Our little man has been planning his fourth birthday all year and now it is going to be nothing like his plans...... His day care have actually organised a Zoom Family Movie night and we are trying to make it extra special for him... Would anyone within a 5km radius of Aspendale happen to have a projector we could borrow? Thanks in advance! Kelly

23.01.2022 I ISOLATION LOCKDOWN 2.0 I Just when we thought we were seeing some light at the end of the tunnel...here we are again: Isolation Lockdown 2.0! What a ride it has been since we postponed our first market event back in March as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have since seen the country surrender to even stricter lock down conditions, seen a return to some aspects of life as we know it, albeit with a whole new set of rules and precautions, and now we are amidst a sec...ond wave and possible tightening of restrictions once more. Hats off to all of our Bumble Bee community in riding this pandemic wave...to the essential workers, to the parents and carers surviving remote learning, to the new parents who have brought new life in to this crazy world we live in, to those working from home and all of the struggles that we have negotiated in the recent months. As always, our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our staff and market community. We will continue to monitor the situation and reassess the decision to postpone future scheduled markets on an ongoing basis. We will continue to follow the advice from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and will be closely monitoring developments locally, nationally and internationally. All stall holder bookings for this events have been refunded or transferred across to our next scheduled Berwick event on Sunday 13th September 2020. Thank you in advance for your continued support, patience and collaboration as we work through this unprecedented situation. Please help us by sharing this message with your friends and family. We wish you and your family continued good health over the coming weeks.

21.01.2022 I STAGE 3 LOCKDOWN ROUND 2 I Anyone else feeling absolutely petrified and emotional?

20.01.2022 I JUST TO MAKE US SMILE I

16.01.2022 I NEW BLUEY EPISODES I Times are tough here in Melbourne lockdown and we feel for our little ones more and more.. They have been so resilient but we can only hope this will be a blip on their radar in years to come..... New episodes of our favourite blue heeled family should help out some smiles on their dials!

15.01.2022 I 2020 STALL HOLDER BOOKINGS I Well what a year 2020 is turning out to be... With many of our events in the first half of the year postponed as a result of ongoing COVID restrictions, it is unclear at this stage when and if we will be up and running again this year...... Rather than restrict stall holder bookings, we are allowing stall holders to place bookings for proposed events to ensure that when it is appropriate and safe to do so, we will have a market ready to go! Should an event that you book in to be postponed, you will be offered a transfer to the next event at that location or a refund of your full stall holder fee. When we have the green light, we anticipate bookings will be in hot demand with many families utilising their time in isolation to reset and declutter. We also understand that many of our small business stall holders have been struggling over this period and can't wait for market days to be up and running again! At just $32 / stall including a 1.8m trestle table, public liability insurance and a social media shout out for business stall holders, what is stopping you from booking a stall? Just click on the date and venue below of the market you are interested in and you will be directed to the booking page. 14.01.2022 I AN AFL GRAND FINAL LIKE NO OTHER I What a year it has been for the AFL community... Kind of ironic that the weather in Queensland is quite Melbourne-like!... Who will you be cheering on tonight? Anyone else thrown by a night Grand Final? Think the Bumble Bee household will be cheering on the Cats and their retiring greats tonight... Party pies, lil franks and sausage rolls on the menu!

13.01.2022 Important exercise update. Two hours of exercise between you and your family. Parents or carers of children can take their children for one hour of active outdoor play outside the home. This is separate to the one hour of exercise allowed for parents or carers each day.

13.01.2022 I COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CITY OF KINGSTON PARENTS I

12.01.2022 I HAPPY FATHER’S DAY I We are fortunate to meet many father figures through our markets... The stall holder dads and the customer dads... The grandparents, the want to be dads, the stepping it up dads...... Be it lugging in a garage full of treasures for sale on market day or searching for a new treasure with your little people, you all mostly do it with a smile and always with your little one’s best interests first and foremost.. We keep Father’s Day market free just for you so soak up the breakfast in bed, the crafted treasures from the school stalls, and most of all the well deserved cuddles and admiration on your special day! An extra special thank you to the very special dads in our Bumble Bee family!

12.01.2022 I BACK TO SCHOOL I What a big day today is... How is everyone feeling sending their little (and big) people back in to the big wide world amidst this ongoing pandemic?... Do you feel like you have just settled in to your remote learning routine and now it is back to the daily grind? Are you happy to handover the reigns to the teachers after doing the mammoth effort of remote learning and trying to work from home and juggle family life? Will you miss your little people and the new way of life we all seem to have adapted to so well? Are you a teacher ready to welcome your students back to the school yard with open arms in a whole new way? Wishing all of our Bumble Bee Community a safe return to school today and over the coming weeks... Would love to see some ‘first day’ pics if you have any to share!

10.01.2022 I LET THE FUN AND GAMES BEGIN I Don’t know about anyone else but as excited as I am for our world to reopen, it also makes me extremely nervous... Who would have thought we would have to book a time to head to Kmart?... What is on your to do list for this week? I have so many online purchases to return...eeek...think I’ll wait a week or so before braving shoppingvcentres though..

09.01.2022 I ALL THE FEELS I This pretty much sums things up right about now... Our kids are going to be so resilient after going through this..maybe we adults will be too...

09.01.2022 I REMINDER: HAMPTON MARKET POSTPONED I It is with much disappointment that we announce the postponement of our inaugural Hampton market scheduled for Sunday 31st May 2020. Who would have thought that back on the 14th March when we postponed our Ringwood market, we would be where we are now?... With the ongoing advice from all levels of Australian Government that Australians should avoid all public gatherings and non essential activities to minimise the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), this decision remains out of our hands. Our priority is and always will be the safety and wellbeing of our staff and market community. We will continue to monitor the situation and will reassess the decision to postpone future scheduled markets on a weekly basis. We will continue to follow the advice from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and will be closely monitoring developments locally, nationally and internationally. All affected stallholders have been emailed and we ask that you assist us by replying ASAP to confirm you have received this important information. Thank you in advance for your continued support, patience and collaboration as we work through this unprecedented situation. Please help us by sharing this message with your friends and family. We wish you and your family good health over the coming weeks. A very big thank you especially to those of you working in essential services at this challenging time.

09.01.2022 I REMINDER: PATTERSON LAKES MARKET POSTPONED I It is with much disappointment that we announce the postponement of our inaugural Patterson Lakes market scheduled for Sunday 24th May 2020. 07.01.2022 I WELL DONE MELBOURNE I

07.01.2022 Nothing about this is easy. But any time you draw a line anywhere, there will be some things on one side and some things on the other. Some people might be aski...ng 'Why five kilometres and not ten?' 'Why is X open and Y isn't?' As with everything, we're trying to get the balance right. To make things as clear as possible. And we're doing our best to maximise the public health benefits while minimising the impact on everyone's lives. But the reality is that to get to the other side of this, we have to make some big changes and some big sacrifices. Stage 4 is about dramatically limiting our movement and the contact we have with others. That's the only way this will work. I know people have questions. Hopefully this answers some of them. Please look out for each other and stay safe.

04.01.2022 I SELF CARE SAVES I

03.01.2022 I PROGRESS IS PROGRESS I We were excited to hear that the Victorian Government have announced a significant easing of restrictions beginning on Sunday 31st May 2020 which will see a number of shopping, retail and personal service businesses recommence trade. From 11.59pm on 31st May 2020, market stalls that sell non-food and drink products will be permitted to trade. According to government and public health guidelines, the market operator is responsible for ensuring the f...our square metre rule is applied to indoor spaces (that is one person per four square metres). Customers are required to keep 1.5 metres in between them and other people who are not part of their household. At this stage, the Central Ringwood Community Centre remains closed to large gatherings and as such is not available to us to host the upcoming event scheduled for Sunday 14th June 2020. In addition to this, we do not feel that it would be viable for us to go ahead with this event in light of the existing restrictions. All affected stallholders have been emailed and we ask that you assist us by replying ASAP to confirm you have received this important information. We wish you and your family good health over the coming weeks. A very big thank you especially to those of you working in essential services at this challenging time.

02.01.2022 I TIME TO MASK UP MELBOURNE I You must wear a face mask when out and about for the four following reasons: 1 Shopping for food or other essential items;... 2 To provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment; 3 For exercise (outdoor exercise only, with only one other person or members of your household); 4 Work or study, if you cannot work or study from home. The new rules come into effect from Thursday 23 July. There are exceptions, for example, if you have a medical condition, are under the age of 12 years, or where it is not practical. DO YOI HAVE A FAVOURITE MASK MAKER? ARE YOU MAIING MASKS FOR OTHERS? ANY OF OUR CLEVER SEWING STALL HOLDERS PERHAPS? POST YOUR LINKS BELOW... Is it ironic that there was already a masked emoji???

01.01.2022 I THE COMMUNITY HIVE I We are all about community here at Bumble Bee Baby and Children's Markets... If you aren't already a member, send us a request to join and we will sign you up!
