18.01.2022 How cool is this! It’s hard to believe that by 12 weeks gestation, a baby has all of it’s systems in place ready to grow and develop

18.01.2022 Let’s talk SLEEP DEPRIVATION in motherhood !!! Did you know that research shows that on average, new parents get 4 hours and 44 minutes sleep per night during the first year of their baby’s life . I remember setting really low expectations for sleep when my twins were born just so I didn’t get disappointed. I think it was a coping strategy. I would tell myself that if I could get 5 hours total of broken sleep per night then I would be ok. I had 3 boys under the age of 2 a...ll waking up through the night so it was no surprise that I quickly became a walking zombie, sleep deprived crazy woman who felt like her brain had turned to mush . The following are my 3 TOP TIPS on how to make those sleep deprived days a little bit easier: Get out in the fresh air and sun and take yourself for a walk. I know you are tired but trust me, for your own sanity, you will feel better. Popping your bub in the pram or carrier and adding some movement to your day can change your mood in an instant. The morning sun is better as this is great for helping set your baby’s circadian rhythm, which will help them sleep. WIN-WIN!!! Have some family and friends make you some healthy breakfast snacks that you can grab on the run. Make sure they include some protein, whole grains and fruit to help you function on little sleep. It’s really hard to be organised and eat properly when you’re sleep deprived but things like chai puddings and bircher muesli with almonds and blueberries are a great way to start your day. Let go of trying to do ALL THE THINGS. You do not have to be super-mum. Resting is ok. Use whatever shortcuts you can to get yourself through the day. The cleaning can wait or even better, ask for help! . . . . . . #thefourthtrimester #ppd #postpartumdepression #postpartumanxiety #aussiemums #mumsofmelbourne #myhonestmotherhood #colicbaby #colic #gassybaby #tonguetie #fussybaby #colickybaby #refluxbaby #motherhoodintheraw #mumstruggles

17.01.2022 Osteopathic treatment during pregnancy aims to support: The changing shape and size of the uterus and the impact this has on surrounding organs such as bowels, intestines, bladder, lungs etc. Changes in the centre of gravity and the impact this has on the whole musculoskeletal system.... Alterations in gait and general movement patterns. Overall we are trying to reduce the strain on mama and bub during the enormous changes that occur while growing a baby . . . . . #motherhoodalive #mumsofmelbourne #parenthood_moments #tribedemama #babysfirstyear #newmumlife #postpartumlife #newbornlife #motherhoodishard #mumandbaby #osteopathgeelong #pelvicgirdlepain #geelongmums

15.01.2022 Get your Sacrotuberous Ligaments treated mamas to help prepare your pelvis for birth!!! . This is VERY important ligament when osteopaths are considering creating space for the baby to descend through the pelvic outlet during birth. If this ligament is tight it can pull the sacrum towards the bones we sit down on, which essentially decreases the available space for bubs to pass out !... . Have you had your pelvis checked during your pregnancy??? Our highly experienced osteopaths, Emma and Carrie look forward to helping your journey into motherhood . . Feel free to book an appointment online through our bio . Otherwise DM your questions as we are more than happy to answer them x Photo credit anatomyEXPERTS . . . . #pregnancylife #theartofpregnancy #thebump #pregnantlifestyle #inspirepregnancy #osteopathgeelong #mumsofmelbourne

13.01.2022 What do you do when one of your twins says it’s easy being pregnant? . You make him carry around a 6kg weight for the rest of the day . . He doesn’t look that impressed and we’re only 10 mins in .

12.01.2022 Who else is with me?

12.01.2022 Boosting immune health is what my family and I have been concentrating on thanks to the help of our naturopath Jarrod Carter . We take our zinc daily to help boost our immune system. We have chosen the bioceutical drops that go on our breakfast every morning. It’s something easy we can all do that can help us in these crazy times. Highly recommend seeing your naturopath to have your zinc levels checked

12.01.2022 Does anyone else have a child that went to school for book week today as themselves??? . He claims that there’s going to be a book written about him one day so why not . #ModestMuch #You’reSoVain
