09.01.2022 Hi, all. Globally, parkrun has a Wheels at parkrun Events policy that identifies the types of wheeled equipment that can be accommodated at parkrun events. An extract of this policy is shown below. The full policy and associated FAQs are available at: ... https://wiki.parkrun.com/index.php/Wheels_at_parkrun_Events At Bunbury parkrun, it is especially important that we adhere to this policy, given that we have participants moving in both directions on the same path. While we cannot prevent the public from riding scooters, bikes, etc. on the course, I ask that you help reduce the risk of injury by ensuring that friends and family are aware of this policy. Thanks, Glen, Co-ED.

06.01.2022 Hi, all. Our beloved # 79 finish token has gone AWOL. We think the person in this photo may be able to help us with our enquiries. ... If you are/know this person (or know the whereabouts of our #79 token), please get in touch. Thanks, Glen, Co-ED e: [email protected]
03.01.2022 Hi, all. As promised, find below details of the alternate course that Bunbury parkrun will need to use over the next few weeks. I measured this course today, and can confirm that it is definitely (at least) 5km. Any PBs set on this course will have been well-and-truly earnt.... For those who like textual descriptions: Start at our usual Finish line, heading in our usual direction. (i.e. west) Follow our usual route until you reach the turnaround point, opposite the Water Corp equipment on Tuart St. Return on the same path, back across the bridge. Stay on the low path, past the first path up to the lookout. Make a hook right turn at the second path up to the lookout. Head back out for a second lap to the turnaround point. On your second return, continue through to the Finish line (rather than hook turning up to the lookout). For those who prefer pictures (or who don’t rate my descriptions), see the video below. (Follow the blue arrows out, and the red arrows back.) Because of the increased distance where participants will be moving in both directions, please remember to: Keep left, unless overtaking (and only overtake when the path ahead is clear). Be courteous to other path users. Run with only a single dog, on a short leash. Only bring permitted wheeled devices. (i.e. prams and wheelchairs; please no bikes, scooters, skateboards, roller skates/blades, etc.) By my count, there are seven park benches adjacent to the path. Please use these as reminders/gauges to maintain your distance from other participants. If you have any questions about the alternate course, please feel free to comment here, or send us a Facebook message or email. I will repeat the above description at our pre-event briefing at 07:50 on Saturday. Thanks, Glen Penfold Co- Event Director, Bunbury parkrun (+ Cathy Fulford) e: [email protected]
