This weekend from 9-12 the Bunbur...y Car Club is hosting a daylight inspection at the Make Smoking History Bunbury Speedway. Accredited Speedway Sedans Australia Officials will be there to look over your car to make sure it’s race ready for this season. While you’re at the venue, why not stick around as well to help the club during a busy to to get the venue ready for the upcoming Make Smoking History Speedway Sedans Western Australia Production Sedan State Title on October 3 and 4.

There are already plenty of former State Champions in many categories nominated for this event, including 2018 State Production Sedan Champion Barry Rose. One of the most winningest drivers in Speedway Sedans Australia in the past decade, Rose is no stranger to the top step at the Bunbury Bullring. Rose will be looking to add his second State Title to his name after falling short to regaining his title at Ellenbrook in 2019 after taking the champions provisional. On October 4, Baker will look to add the Auto One Junior Sedan Gold presented by KJB Fabrication list on night two of the Make Smoking History Speedway Sedans Australia Production Sedan WA State Title. 11.01.2022 WA PRODUCTION SEDAN TITLE FIELD RELEASED The field for the rescheduled 2019/2020 SSA Production Sedans WA State Title has today been released, with a field over... sixty cars set to do battle on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th October 2020 at the Make Smoking History Bunbury Speedway. Originally scheduled for early April, the twenty third running of the event will see Jamie Oldfield try and defend the title he won at Ellenbrook back at Easter in 2019 against the best SSA Production Sedans the West has to offer. No less than six former winners are in the field which includes Richard Nelson (2005/2006), Mick Hamon (2014/2015), Drew Ogle (2016/2017), Barry Rose (2017/2018), five time winner Ron Belfield and Kye Blight who returns to the class where he first rose to promience when he won as a sixteen year old at Kalgoorlie in 2009. Current Victorian Champion Beau Riley should start as one of the favourites after enjoying a stellar run recently in major events along with Kyle Sayer who was untouchable at the recent RDA Production Sedan Classic back on Fathers Day. Both Sayer and Riley have both finished on the podium twice previously with former placegetters Rick Musarra and 2010 National Champion Rod Musarra who has finished runner up on five occasions both strong chances in their Cranecorp Holden Commodores. Former WA Street Stock Champions Jason Oldfield and Hayden Norman are joined by former WA Modified Sedan Champions Aydan Trewern, Shane Brittain and the current WA Modified Sedan Champion Branden Fraser in the field along with former WA Super Sedan Champion Frank Does. Recent SSA Junior Sedan graduates Josh Fraser, Jayke Malcolm, Jayden McCuish, Ashley Baker and Jack McAuley are sure to make their presence felt with McAuley in particular showing strong form in the north of the state in recent months. 02.01.2022 FUNDING FOR SPEEDWAY REPAIRS Bunbury Speedway will receive $30,000 from the State Government towards urgent repair works.... Immediate improvements are required for the speedway to achieve the national standard for upcoming events in 2021 while the speedway resolves longer term works required to ensure accreditation beyond 2021. Works will be carried out to catch fence cables, catch fence structure, mesh and a concrete wall in order for the speedway to meet requirements. The funding will allow immediate infrastructure issues to be addressed so track requirements are met in time for the venue to host a leg of the WA Sprintcar Speedweek on New Year’s Day.
