20.01.2022 Outdoor Recreation students challenged themselves, made the most of opportunities and enjoyed picture perfect weather for the Year 12 Kayak Camp held over the weekend. Hamlin Bay and the mouth of the Augusta River were there to explore and a coastline paddle took up the best part of a day. These seafarers are preparing for their skipper's Ticket assessments later in the year.
19.01.2022 Think Global, Act Local: the BCC Secondhand Bookshop Sale is on. That’s where you will find bargains and help the planet by recycling textbooks, according to Eliana White, who completed Year 10 this year. Eliana has been taking the opportunity to catch up on a book she missed out on that appears on the Year 7 booklist for next year ‘Jack’s Island’ by home-grown WA author Norman Jorgensen. So many good things about this Secondhand Bookshop Sale, open tomorrow and on January ...22 from 8am till noon in the Marist Sports Pavilion. 17.01.2022 This Sporting Life: Some of our younger cricketers are taking on the visitors from Newman College in a limited over match at Forrest Park today. Our First XI are competing for the Brother Jordan Redden Shield, an event held in lieu of the annual Marist Cricket Carnival which was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Good luck! Follow our team on the MyCricket app, or on the website: http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pages/public/rv/draw.aspx And in late news...... The BCC First XI have come away victorious in the Brother Jordan Redden Shield games, winning both T20 matches yesterday and winning the 50 over match today. Well done! See more

16.01.2022 RIP Sister Kilian After 100 years on this Earth, the angelic lady we all knew as the mid-wife Sister Kilian has joined the angels in Heaven. She was born Mary Stafford in Newbawn in County Wexford, Ireland, on May 16, 1920 and died in Perth on December 12, 2020. As women of her generation did, in 1938, Mary joined a group of Irish girls at the Wexford Convent who had responded to God’s call to dedicate their lives to the service of the sick in this case it was in distant A...Continue reading
16.01.2022 Our Year 12 Cert IV Prep Health and Nursing class had a very interesting visit from former student Amy van Dijk this week. Having worked in several hospitals and areas of nursing, Amy was able to answer the large numbers of questions put to her by the class, giving first hand insights into the highs and lows of working as an ED nurse as well as an imaging nurse. Our students also gained an understanding of how their further studies will be ongoing as they focus on their chosen professional medical careers. Thank you to Amy, pictured centre, for your endless enthusiasm and time - we all learnt more about the nursing profession.
10.01.2022 Blessings and best wishes to Mr Eric Douglas on his retirement. He is remembered fondly and held dear by the BCC community.
05.01.2022 The Lady In The Chapel Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, aka Our Lady of Perpetual Help, who for many years dwelt in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Kirup, is now a beautiful new addition to the Bunbury Catholic College Chapel. Pastoral Assistant Kate Jendrzejak helped arrange the new home for our Virgin Mother Mary and this is one act which will remind us all of Kate for many years to come. Kate is an ex-student of student of BCC, who completed her a Traineeship in Business ...with Mr Michael Downes and Mrs Tanya Downes and graduated in 2013, then returned the following year to become a member of staff. Now she has completed her degree at ECU, Kate is leaving the College, and leaving her twin sister Claire who works in the Cafeteria, to pursue her teaching career. Our Lady of Perpetual Succour has most likely stood in the Kirup Church since it was built some time before 1960, making her more than 60 years old. Unfortunately, the Kirup church has closed for services, so this iconic relic has been gifted to the College by the Kirup/Donnybrook Parish with the assistance of Kate and Emily Jendrzejak. Kate has been captivated by the work of art. When sunlight hits the gold you are almost mesmerised by her beauty, she said. ‘You have to see things to really appreciate them. Next year she will stand tall in our Chapel on a wooden stand, which will be made as a gift to the College using donations from our Year 12 students in 2019. See more
05.01.2022 State Government Member for Bunbury Don Punch was just one of the many satisfied customers who visited our College stand at the Dalyellup Christmas Festival on Sunday. He is pictured with some of our awesome Year 7s, Migha Vipin, Melissa N'gang'a, Pia Mangano and Udari Perera who volunteered to help on the stall, selling candles and glowsticks for the evening's carol singing. Everyone had a joyous time at the festival and even the adults got excited when Santa Claus arrived in a fire truck. Beautiful Christmas decorations, handmade with care by our students, were on sale with proceeds going to St Antonine's home for the aged in South Africa. Some of the honey, wrapped in bee-utiful packaging, is still available from the College Administration.
02.01.2022 Christmas decorations, honey and a hand-knitted toy Santa have all helped us raise $1750 so far, which goes directly to support St Antonine’s home for the aged, in South Africa. Organiser Colleen Wright sent out a huge thank you to everyone who assisted in making decorations and buying goods for the Library's ‘Gift of Giving’ appeal. The popular toy Santa raffle was won by Sue Connolly, and just a few bottles of honey are still waiting to go to a good home. Merry Christmas everyone.
