13.01.2022 Big thank you to both Bunbury Bears U18M, coach Brad Waldock, and the U16W and coach Ebony Bilcich for playing our touring teams in a couple of friendly matches recently. The U18M won the Country Championships over the weekend - 2020 BCC Touring Team members competing with the successful Bunbury Bears were Clay Jackson and Kayde Waldock, 2019 Touring team member Baiden Parsons also represented Bears. Rhys Barrett, OLMC Year 12 student, was awarded Allstar and Grand Final MVP.... Brad was also named Allstar Coach. Congrats boys. Earlier this month Sam Nankivell also represented the Eaton Basketball Association in U15M and was awarded Grand Final MVP. Our own touring members Jake Chapman and Dom Celisano also played in the Country Championships over the weekend, representing Harvey Basketball Association winning U18M Division 2. Jalen O’Shea competed well for Eaton Basketball Association in the U18M Div 2, coming out second best to Harvey in the Touring Team rivalry! From our girls team Abbie Field, Sophie Oliver, Alyssa Liddelow and Holly Bilcich suited up for Bunbury Bears finishing 6th in the Country Championships U16W Division 1. Holly was named an Allstar! Coach Ebony Bilcich was an inaugural Basketball Touring Team member for BCC traveling to Darwin back in 2013! Chloe Scott also played over the weekend representing the Eaton Basketball Association. Earlier this month Adi Griffith also represented Bunbury Bears in the U14G crowned Champions!

09.01.2022 Our Boys team had a bright and early start today on their home study day - we travelled up to Newman College, fellow Australian Marist Touring team. The boys played extremely well on both ends of the floor with Zane Dixon, Kayde Waldock and Jake Chapman leading the scoring charge. Finn Reid was a threat both offensively and defensively also. Unfortunately the boys came away second best with the score 53-37.... Both our boys and girls teams look forward to the ACC One Day Carnival next Wednesday and a detailed report of both events will be in the following newsletter.
