23.01.2022 FLU VIRUS'. Are you prepared with food, lifestyle and nutrients? I'm throwing my hat in the ring to add to the already large stream of thoughts out there regarding the current pandemic of Corona Virus. As you all know, self isolation and hand washing are the king and queen of front line management.... but with so much hand washing, how do you protect your skin, and the microbiome on the skin (which is our protective barrier). ... For me and my family, I am using Jojoba oil with lemon myrtle essential oil after I have washed my hands. I apply this to the back of my hands, which seem to be the driest, and then rub over the rest of my hands which don't need as much of the oil. Jojoba oil is said to be the most like normal skin oils, so should penetrate the top layers of your skin quite quickly. The lemon myrtle essential oil also maintains a little extra benefit with research showing it may benefit antibacterial, antiseptic actions. It may even confer antiviral activity according to some literature By now most of you will have cottoned on to the fact that vitamin c and zinc will be important to add to your health regime, but it is important to make sure you are making your lifestyle the best it can be. Adding vitamin A rich foods such as eggs, orange and yellow foods and green leafy veg. We also have supplements that can help with improving Vitamin A levels too. I mention Vitamin A as it is an important precursor to the absorption of Vitamin D, which we all know is an important component of any healthy immune system. Vitamin A also works really well with zinc and c to support mucous membranes (eyes ears nose, mouth and throat). The stronger these areas are the less opportunity for pathogens (bacterial or viral) to penetrate a healthy mucous membrane. Adding the following foods to your diet can also be good for helping to support your immune system. Foods such as garlic and onion if tolerated, mushrooms, home made chicken soup (recipe on my web page bunburynaturalhealth.com.au) and lots of green leafy veg (well washed with suitable vegetable wash and then rinse the veg well. Vegie wash particularly important for fruits and salads which are generally eaten raw) So now you have prepared the ground work with your wonderful diet and lifestyle approach there are other things you an do. Because we won't have a vaccine for COVID 19 for quite some time, we can look to other ways of supporting our immune system for general health and winter colds and Flu's. I have put together some herbal remedies, nutritional supports, throat gargles and homoeopathic remedies to help clients and family through these un-navigated waters. Even with one short visit, am pleased I was able to help "Hi Victoria I wanted to say thankyou. I came and saw you late 2016 for a consultation and had Iridology. You mentioned there was something a little off with my left breast.
