17.01.2022 Seriously, the only difference between these two images of Carly is the focal length we used for each shot. Amazing how just one change can make someone look completely different! 14.01.2022 Earlybird Special - get $50 off when you book before tomorrow!

14.01.2022 Driving home from a gorgeous beach session as the super moon rises. Are you trying to photograph it tonight? Use the longest telephoto lens you have, set your focus to infinity, pop your camera on a tripod and use the timer. Good luck!

12.01.2022 Did you know that there are actually lots of things that affect the sharpness of your photos? In my recent video I talked about how your diopter adjusts your camera to your eye. Well that helps you to see properly through the viewfinder, but it doesn't affect the image you capture. To get a sharp photo you need to think about holding your camera correctly, your shutter speed, when to use a tripod (& why), controlling your depth of field (aperture), your focus point, and your ...ISO. When you shoot in Auto mode your camera selects your settings for you and quite often it gets at least something wrong - after all it's just a digital light box, it doesn't have a brain like us - so it's up to us to tell the camera what to do so that we can stop getting frustrated with the results and blaming our poor cameras and start taking photos we love. Don't know what any of that means or where to start? Come to our next Photography Fundamentals Workshop this Sunday 10th September and we will show you! We will talk about all of these things and more, and show you how to use your own cameras in a small group setting with plenty of time for practice and questions. Simply find out more and book your spot here: https://www.thephotographyboutique.com.au//photography-fun

11.01.2022 This is the difference between shooting in Auto and controlling your camera settings... We took a quick photo of one of our workshop attendees in Auto mode (the image on the left). The camera didn't get it right, it's dark and blurry. So we took control of the camera and changed a couple of simple settings to take the image on the right. What a difference! It's really pretty easy to vastly improve your photography, you just need to learn a few fundamentals to set you on the ...right path. We'll be teaching these and more at our Creative Photography Workshop on 15th October. Find out more and book your spot online here: https://www.thephotographyboutique.com.au/photography-work/
