25.01.2022 We were on our way in to Bunbury yesterday morning, during the 'rush hour' and as we approached the traffic lights on the Bussell Highway at the junction of Washington Ave, someone in front had lost their load of old glassware (vases, antique bowls, lamps etc). Which was smashed all over the road. We pulled up past the lights, grabbed a broom from the van and with Mrs.T on traffic control, I proceeded to sweep the glass from the highway. I received this message on our FB page. Sometimes good deeds do get noticed.

24.01.2022 As the sun sets in the west and the moon rises from the east, that's 2017 done and dusted. Mrs.T and I would like to wish you all good health and happiness for 2018. Whatever the year ahead may hold in store for us all, we wish you well. X

23.01.2022 Good morning from The Shack In The Woods. This is the first joey we have seen this year. The mornings are getting lighter earlier, it's staying lighter longer and the days are getting warmer. Spring is in the air!

20.01.2022 Nearly five months ago, Mrs.Ts mum and dad, Deanna and Fred arrived to visit us, as they have done every year for the past 18 years. Unfortunately, three months ago, Deanna had a fall at our home which resulted in a badly fractured pelvis, which in turn resulted in further medical complications. Last Friday, we were finally able to get them back to their home in Cyprus. Deanna still has a long way to go to get anywhere near a full recovery but thanks to incredible dedication... from our doctor (and nurses) here in Bunbury who have looked after Deannas recovery, they are at least safely home. The purpose of this post is twofold: Firstly, I would like to thank all of our customers for their support and understanding while we have been preoccupied with Deannas recovery and to the customers that we have let down, either by not responding or replying to your calls or emails, I sincerely apologize. Secondly, and more importantly, to all those people that call themselves, simply, 'carers', to all those people that look after a loved one, in whatever capacity, I take my hat off to you and salute your strengh, fortitude and dedication. It has been a trying few months for all of us here at The Shack In The Woods but to my Mrs.T, to Deanna and Fred, I love you with all my heart. See more

18.01.2022 Happy Christmas from usmob!

18.01.2022 Not too shabby a view for the first job of the week.

18.01.2022 I went to fix a sliding door this morning and the family had a rather yappy little dog that they said they would put away while I was working. I told them not to bother, as I am okay with dogs. So I started repairing the door and while on my hands and knees, the little dog calmed down and came to me and started licking my head. After a few minutes, the little boy who sat outside watching me work said; "I don't let him lick my face, 'cos he eats the cats poo."... Great information, just a tad too late! See more

17.01.2022 Meet Marley. The closest living thing to an Ewok from Star Wars that I have ever seen. I'm not sure who kept who entertained as I fixed the door lock. Dog Of The Day, is Marley.

16.01.2022 This morning I went out to do my Christmas shopping and I did something that I have not done for a very long time. That is, I took the time to have a leisurely wander around the Bunbury CBD. And do you know what? I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The street art, the cafes, the smaller boutique shops, the 'vibe' that you just don't get from the big shopping centres.... We really do live in a very special part of the world and I guess we sometimes just have to stop and smell the proverbial roses. See more

13.01.2022 It has been a rather stressful time for Mrs.T and I this arvo. We got home from work and let Monty and Nelson out and I sat out on the front verandah while the boys sat on the grass in the shade. I looked up and saw them running across the lawn, one either side of a bloody great dugite. I screamed at them, Mrs.T screamed at them to stop and thankfully they did, as the snake wrapped itself around an aloe vera. It was then a mad panic to get the boys in the house, then lock up... the house, get them in to the ute, then, almost literally, fly in to the vets. We rang en-route to advise them we were on our way and when we arrived, the staff at Bunbury Vet Clinic were ready and waiting for us. After the checks and a nervous wait, we were cleared to bring our boys home. How and why the dugite didn't strike at them, I will never know. As I write this post, I sit watching our boys happily playing on the back lawn and I count my blessings. Bugger dry January, we're going to open a bottle of wine. See more

10.01.2022 She's still here......

09.01.2022 While fitting a dog door for a lady, I met Little Feathers, a little bird with a big story. A while ago, Little Feathers escaped from his house and his owner was frantic with worry. After leaflet drops, pleas on social media, nothing was heard about him. No sightings, nothing. Then after five weeks and two days (his owner was quite sure about the days he was missing!), he was found in Australind, about 20 kilometres away from his home. His owner went to pick him up from Australind and when Little Feathers saw his mum, he hopped on to her shoulder and said "Mummys gorgeous boy!" After a story like that, I think Little Feathers deserves to be our budgerigar of the day!

08.01.2022 This is why, even with a 'helper', jobs can take a little while longer than we expect.

08.01.2022 Over the years, we have had our 'Dog Of The Day' on the jobs we have worked at. Today, we met Teddy. With cuteness overload, I think Teddy must be our Dog Of The Year.

08.01.2022 Havin' fun indeed. The Bunbury Windoor Repair Service Christmas function 2017. (Me & Mrs T having a pub lunch at the Parade Hotel).

06.01.2022 Mrs.T has arranged this radio show to celebrate my 50th birthday. Will be different for sure! The soundtrack of my life, as it were! From 7 to 10pm Thursday 14th September. Bunbury Community Radio 103.7fm.

06.01.2022 We were just getting ready for work, when Skippy turned up to say G'day.

05.01.2022 From one extreme to the other. This morning we met little Teddy (see our earlier post from today). This arvo we met the not so little Logan. A big, beautiful boy. Another Dog Of The Day!

05.01.2022 We fitted a dog door under the watchful gaze of Lily, just to make sure we fitted her dog door properly. (It passed her inspection and she started using it straight away).

02.01.2022 Good morning to you too.

01.01.2022 Our 'Nemo' tree is now up at the Shack In The Woods, therefore it is, for Mrs.T, myself and our boys, officially, Christmas.
