23.01.2022 Here’s our very own K. Dee!
23.01.2022 Some sage advice. Authors beware.
22.01.2022 Our illustrious Chair, Mark Townsend was on air with Stan Shaw from ABC South West Breakfast this morning discussing our recently released 'Pandemic Prose'. The book is a collection of short stories dealing with Covid-19 related stories and was gifted to Mark McGowan last week as thanks for his magnificent leadership during this trying time. The link to the interview is below and can be found at approximately 13:40 seconds.
22.01.2022 At our last @bunbury_writers_group meeting, one of our authors Louise Tarrier, presented us all with our own copies of her feminist poetry book ‘Heart Song’. . . #feministpoetry #heartsong #caffezbunbury

21.01.2022 Let's face it. 2020 has been a rough year. So many of us have faced challenges that we've never had to deal with in our lifetime, and for a lot of us, long made plans have been cancelled or postponed. We're very fortunate to live in Western Australia; at least life here has a strong semblance of normal in these Covid times. To celebrate our freedom of speech and the ability for our community to be able to come together still, the Bunbury Writers Group have organised a chance ...for poets, story tellers and songwriters to come together and share their words. For a fiver, come and enjoy an evening of spoken word art. Renowned Perth Slam Poet Niel Smith will be headlining the gig along with our top notch local legends! So, join us on Friday November 13, 2020, for the second 'BWG Open Mic Night'. Held at Caf-Fez in Prinsep Street Bunbury, the doors will open at 6.30 pm for registrations with performances starting at 7.00 pm. Beer|Wine|Softies|Coffee available.
19.01.2022 Thinking about getting some culture during lockdown? Why not choose to have a poetry-themed movie night? Who knows what poetic genius this may inspire.
19.01.2022 Thankyou Don Punch MLA for presenting this to the Hon. Mark McGowan. The past few months have been truly unique and testing. We have all battled a myriad of emotions and have witnessed life around us change dramatically. But, through it all, the State of Western Australia has been governed with integrity and truly remarkable leadership.... The Bunbury Writers Group wanted to give the Premier a little memento of this time- the collection was written for him as our way to say ‘Thankyou’. We honour and thank all our essential workers who have helped to keep the State ticking over, and all the government support staff that have advised the Premier & Cabinet over these times of Covid. *the book is not for sale and BWG are not profiting from this anthology at all.
19.01.2022 A big congratulations to all who entered this year’ ‘Spooky Story Competition’ run and hosted by @ksp_writers_centre. A huge congratulations to the winners and shortlisted, especially our own David Rawet & @leeharsenauthor who will feature in the collective Anthology: ‘Beneath’. #wawriters #bunburywritersgroup #bwg #davidrawet #leeharsen #kspwriterscentre #spookystory2020 @ Bunbury, Western Australia@

16.01.2022 We are very proud to announce two of our members, David Rawet & Lee Harsen have been shortlisted in this competition. The Katherine Susannah Pritchard Writers Centre runs the 'Spooky Story' Competition yearly, and shortlisted entries are published in their yearly anthology collection. This year, the theme was 'Beneath'.... KSP Writers' Centre has shared the cover of the anthology and we can't wait to read it! The winner of the 2020 competition will be announced on the 29th of August, 2020.
15.01.2022 Waaaahhhh!!! Stupid Covid Due to the latest announcement that Covid Stage 4 restrictions are staying in place, we have made the difficult call to postpone this event. We want to keep everyone safe, and have a ripper of a night, so we are rescheduling to early 2021.... Stay tuned to our socials and website for more details. #bwg #bunburywritersgroup #openmicnight #stupidcovid
15.01.2022 Here’s our Mark gifting Don Punch our anthology. For those who didn’t know, Don launched the anthology release in December last year for us. The copy he has here is signed by all the BWG members As you can see from the article, the short anthology ‘Pandemic Prose’ was presented to the Premier Mark McGowan as a memento if Covid-19 this year, and as a token of our respect and thankyou for keeping the State of Western Australia safe and healthy!
12.01.2022 Um... feeling a bit triggered by this. . . Anyone relate?

04.01.2022 It can be daunting to even begin to put those fantastic ideas you've had in a story. We certainly get it. Boy, do we understand! But sometimes the hardest thing is just to start. Start anywhere in your story, just put those words down on paper!... You can do it! #bunburywritersgroup #justwrite #storiesliveeverywhere
04.01.2022 Some wise advice for writers out there
03.01.2022 We all know writers say some pretty profound things sometimes, and sometimes these words inspire, encourage and motivate. What's your favourite quote from an author or from a book? Let us know in the comments section
