25.01.2022 Thursday Ladies Report 17.7.20 Thursday was the final day of Season 2 for our Thursday ladies with a break now for the School holidays. Jan Glanfield 1-3-61 d Sandra Killer 0-1-50 Donna Bentlin (R) 1-3-47 d Natalie Heironymus 0-1-47 The cold weather did not deter our ladies from playing some exciting squash once the ball (and the players) warmed up. Once again Tiaan Weller produced a strong game to win over Anna Maloury in three convincing games. Tiaan is proving that she is getting stronger each week. Petrina Chantler's enthusiasm for the game is infectious and it is great to see her improving with each match that she plays. Coral Stewart was too strong for her, but Petrina was always in the match, winning one game and was closely matched in the other three. Cheers.....Jan
24.01.2022 Ladies! It's official... Mascot Ladies Squash will resume from Thursday 16th July! We do need to follow the guidelines in place due to Covid restrictions. This means: Change rooms & showering will not be accessible (you must come to the centre dressed ready to play, showering after games is not allowed). There is no water bubblers available for use - you will need to bring your own water bottles. Tea/Coffee & share food plates are not permitted. If you need a snack you will n...eed to bring your own & not share (how rude hehehe) I will update you on any changes as they come through. We will run a 10week comp through to the September school holidays. If you know ANYONE that is keen for a hit and can commit to a round please let me know. 23.01.2022 Thursday Ladies Squash Christmas Dinner 2020 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone, but we managed to keep players on the court once the initial Covid restrictions were lifted. What better way to celebrate than with a Christmas dinner last night held at the Old Bundy Tavern. Thank you to our President Natalie Heironymus for organizing us throughout the year and setting up our celebratory dinner. The food was good, the drinks flowed freely and the company was wonderful. Congratulations to Tiaan Weller who received the Pam Donnelly Encouragement Award and to Donna Bentlin who was awarded Club Member of the Year. Cheers .. Jan

Both ladies played hard, fast squash with a solid start from Tiaan to take the first two games. Natalie’s strong serving got her back in the match and she levelled the score at two games each. The last game went point for point with both ladies exhausted but determined to win. The final game went to Natalie 16-14. This was a very entertaining match and played with great sportsmanship. 17.01.2022 News from the Thursday Ladies .............................. We may not be back on the courts playing squash yet, but now that the restrictions have lifted some...what, we were able to get together for lunch and a catch-up recently at Coffee on Bourbong. It was so good to hear how everyone has been coping with everything during isolation. Nat’s experience of home schooling was certainly interesting and it could be said that she was very happy when the kids were allowed back to school. It would appear that most of us ate a little more than usual during this period and are anxious to get back on the courts to work it all off. Shirley took advantage of Kathy’s slow start to take the first two games 15-8 and 15-10. Kathy fought hard to win the next two with the scores close at 16-14 and 18-16. Shirley’s speed around the court and determination took her to a win in the last game and the match. Enjoyable to watch with a display of great sportsmanship. Anna’s touch game proved too good for Natalie in the first game, but Natalie fought back with some strong drives to take the next game. The lead changed from game to game, but Natalie took the win in five close games with a total of only 4 points difference. Another close five set match was that between Donna Bentlin and Petrina Chantler. Donna (filling in as a reserve) started strong to win a close first game. Petrina clawed back the lead to take the next two games 16-14 and 15-13. With the lead 2-1 in favour of Petrina, Donna came back determined to win and won the next two games and the match. All five games were close with neither player wanting to give an inch. The first three games were all long games Anna 19-17, Anna 16-14 and Natalie 18-16. It was nice to see some extra players, who have been out for various reasons, return to the courts to have a hit. 04.01.2022 Thursday Ladies Update ...... It was lovely to see the ladies back after the long break due to the Covid-19 isolation. Our numbers were down but hopefully will pick up again when the weather warms up and the Covid-19 restrictions are completely lifted. A big welcome back to Kellie Chanoff who had a fantastic and very entertaining match against Petrina Chantler. These ladies were very evenly matched. Kellie showed that the time away had not slowed her down and took the first t...wo games 15-13. Petrina then got into rhythm to win the next two 21-19 and 22-20, but Kellie fought back to take the last game 15-10 and win the match. The total points were Kellie 84 Petrina 79. Great match ladies. The morning was very entertaining with some great squash played all matches going to five games.
