21.01.2022 Brethren Still a lot of mixed messaging coming from across the country regarding restrictions. Queensland, however, continues to be a good news story so I am really hoping we are not far off resuming our meetings in some form. Please understand though that the tap just can’t be turned on full blast from Day 1. I’m fully expecting some form of distancing to be in place as restrictions are lifted. Also, our hygiene protocols will need to be vastly improved....Continue reading
18.01.2022 My column for this week which is going out as a Newsletter this morning. Greetings Brethren Well, it’s been quite a roller coaster ride since I wrote last week’s column. What we’ve been hoping would not happen - transmission through community contact - has happened. Thankfully the official response has been swift and as I write this on Monday evening no significant outbreaks appear to have occurred and sources are being traced....Continue reading

17.01.2022 My weekly newsletter. Greetings Brethren Unless something unforeseen happens outside of the two options I tabled last week, this weekly message will be my last before we make a call on the restart of face to face meetings....Continue reading

13.01.2022 My weekly newsletter that will be distributed via email. Greetings Brethren COVID-safe kits and guidelines/plans have now been distributed and a small number of lodges have indicated their interest in having meetings in the short term to tidy up outstanding issues that couldn’t be resolved by means other than face to face meetings....Continue reading

07.01.2022 My weekly newsletter which has just gone out: Greetings Brethren The advice I’m receiving from our recovery experts is that we are not too far off being able to return to a limited form of face to face meetings. All of this is predicated on the government continuing to lift restrictions which, after the mass meeting events of the weekend and our random interstate fruit picker, may still be compromised....Continue reading

03.01.2022 Following is my weekly update, but can I preface it by reiterating that this is based on no community spread of this virus in Queensland. I wrote the piece yesterday and this morning there is a report of a lockdown in an aged care facility on the Sunshine Coast. No results for 48 hours. Let's hope it's a false alarm. Should we have an outbreak then extreme caution will prevail. I'm not a betting man. If I won't gamble with my own money you can be sure I won't gamble with your...Continue reading
01.01.2022 My weekly update which has just been mailed out: Greetings Brethren More health nightmares down south with Victoria having a record number of cases today (532). This was the community transmission everyone was fearing. NSW is on high alert and we must be aware that all it takes are one or two ‘super spreaders’ to get through the net and we could be in the same position. While the virus remains highly active interstate our great position up here is under threat....Continue reading
