25.01.2022 5 for 5 We may not be able to run or walk with our mates at the moment but why not send them a virtual 5 in the comments below #loveparkrun #medibanklivebetter Medibank
25.01.2022 Getting crafty with the computer! Who is crafty with a camera??
25.01.2022 Here is the news everyone has been waiting for!! More details over the next few weeks, but for now if you want parkrun back in Bundy alongside everyone in QLD volunteers will be needed. Comment below with your athelete id and position you would like to do! :) RD Matt
25.01.2022 We are excited to confirm that parkrun events in the Northern Territory will reopen on Saturday 19 September! For updates on the status of the remaining States & Territories within Australia click here http://parkrun.me/veaqw #loveparkrun

23.01.2022 It's almost parkrunday...but remember our event doesn't run without volunteers!! We currently have no timekeeper & no photographer. Without a timekeeper we are unable to run. Would someone be willing to take a week off and cheer our runners as you clock them across the line? Download our virtual volunteer app now
23.01.2022 How do you warm-up before your (not)parkrun? Share a tip with your fellow parkrunners #loveparkrun #notparkrun Medibank
22.01.2022 We all know the drill by now and parkrun will be the same. As we are able to come back together, your personal contact details are needed so that we can participate in contact tracing in case of a COVID case relating to parkrun. Could we ask all runners/walkers/volunteers to check in at the event (via QR code or website) either at or before getting to the park on Saturday morning. Look out for one of our volunteers in orange who will assist you with this if its all a bit foreign!
22.01.2022 Big news: (not)parkrun is here! Starting from next week, walk, jog or run a 5k route of your choice, on any day, and submit your time online It’s definitel...y not parkrun, but we can’t wait for #notparkrunday Find out how it works http://parkrun.me/ndbpi #loveparkrun
21.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone! Here is the latest roster. You will notice the biggest gap we have is token sorting for this week. This can be done by a Sub 30 runner or by another volunteer. BUT there are some changes because of our COVID guidelines. ALL tokens will be placed in a bucket and then handled only by the token sorter who will wipe each one down with an antiseptic wipe prior to sorting and putting them away. If you like to clean and make sure things are hygienic - this is the job for you! Please email [email protected] for volunteering (easier to track than facebook messages)
20.01.2022 Who’s updated their (not) parkrun? https://www.parkrun.com/profile/notparkrun
20.01.2022 It is mid-week and the roster is almost complete! Thank you! Seeking someone to hand out the finish tokens this week and we are ready to go.
19.01.2022 So only 2 people from Bundaberg ran 5km last week? . Start logging people, let’s get this week looking better? I’ll post some screen shots on how to log.. But basically sign into your parkrun account and it’s right there..
18.01.2022 Even though we aren’t running each Saturday, there are still plenty of volunteers behind the scenes keeping the parkrun dream alive.

15.01.2022 parkrun is for everyone - but if you're new to the full 5ks, this may be a way to help you ease in! :)
15.01.2022 Same in Bundy as it is in Maryborough! PLEASE PLEASE remember your barcode. All barcodes that were stored have been disposed of. Barcode wristbands, keytags etc can be ordered from here -> https://parkrun-shop.com.au/ See you on Saturday!
14.01.2022 *EDIT* You may have heard Greater Brisbane will be in lock down from 6pm tonight. This will not affect Bundaberg parkrun!! However if you have visited the greater Brisbane area on and since January 2 please do not attend and self isolate as directed by the Queensland Health Department . Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell. (Head Office:) "QLD Health Announcement - We are aware of the announcement affecting Greater Brisbane just made and are reviewing - we will be in touch with all affected events later this morning."
14.01.2022 Now that parkrun events are open again, we are expecting a few tourists. This request came from a Brisbane Adventurer Stephen Birkett... Hello. Sorry to bother but i have an odd request... short story do you know anyone in your parkrun family that might be happy for me to leave my ford transit campervan at there place for a week? I'm doing a bit of a progressive weekend road trip up the coast where i have a great adventure all weekend then park my van Sunday and catch the tra...in back to brisbane then catch the train back on Friday evening and have lots more adventures. Most likely it would be from 3 jan until 8 jan. I would of course be coming along to parkrun on Saturday morning. Sorry if this is a weird request. If you don't ask you don't know right..
13.01.2022 The stages of parkrun Start "Ready? I was born ready!" 1k "This is so much fun!" 2k "Are you sure this isn't a marathon?"... 3k "I can't do it" 4k "Yes I can!" 5k "Boom! When are the next Olympics?" Tell us what stage we missed?
13.01.2022 Our latest roster. We have had one of our volunteers pull out due to sick kids, so we need a barcode scanner for Saturday. We must have 1 scanner per 50 participants so this is an important role. Sorry to bombard everyone, but there's things changing constantly! https://www.parkrun.com.au/bundaberg/futureroster/
12.01.2022 Hi everyone! Looking forward to having parkrun back on November 28th, but in the meantime, think about ways in which you can help! I need volunteers...we will need at least 2 barcode scanners to comply with COVID guidelines and other usual roles as well. I know you're itching to get back on the track, but please consider volunteering as well :) many thanks RD Matt
12.01.2022 parkrun Australia have released more info on what volunteering will look like when events are able to restart.
11.01.2022 Needing a photographer and course checker for next Saturday. These vollie vests need some bodies inside them! Please comment below if you can assist next week or into the future.

10.01.2022 Hello Bundy parkrunners Another day done gets us all closer to getting back to parkrun ..... This Saturday will be just like starting all over again, very exciting times ahead , it will be just great to see all the familiar faces again and hopefully a few new faces as well. We also have some more exciting news, our very own RD Matt Gees has decided to take on the ED role for Bundaberg parkrun, as you all know Matt has been with Bundaberg parkrun from the the early days an...d has a great love for parkrun and its purpose. We know Matt will be a great Event Director for Bundaberg parkrun keeping it a great event for all people involved. Thankyou Matt for taking on the role, we are sure you will be well supported with your Volunteers keeping Bundaberg parkrun the great family friendly event it has become. Congrats Matt See more
07.01.2022 Hello parkrunners!! Just an update that as of yet no official restart date has been announced for QLD. However, every day head office are considering how they can recommence as quickly and effectively as possible. So with parkrun's COVID plan in place, we will require extra volunteers to assist in the smooth running of post-COVID parkrun. Which means we need YOU to be willing to step up more often to volunteer. Comment below how often you would be willing to volunteer and which job you would be willing to take on. (Eg every month, every 2 months, RD, finish tokens). We all miss our parkruns but without a firm commitment from volunteers we won't be able to operate when parkrun are ready to re-commence
07.01.2022 Has everybody been logging their (not) parkrun?
07.01.2022 Results have been processed, sorry for the delay - we had a slight technical issue to solve :D Photos will be up soon
06.01.2022 Thank You everyone for your patience. We had some technical difficulties with the camera! Remember we are all volunteers who love giving back to parkrun; but sometimes other things come first! Thanks again to our Junior Volunteer Cormack and his Mum for getting these shots to us!

06.01.2022 Missed you all on Saturday.
06.01.2022 Please join us in thanking Tanya Nielsen for her time as RD, she has decided to resign from her position. If anyone out there would like to fill the spot, shoot us a message.
05.01.2022 Two volunteer roles still available for this Saturday - barcode scanner and finish tokens. Thanks for considering!
04.01.2022 Due to COVID restrictions on gathering; we are discouraged from making the fuss that we usually do - so this is how we are celebrating our parkrunners and their achievements. An unofficial milestone reached at our pre-Christmas event. Karen Beveridge completed 150 parkruns! Karen is always a friendly face and loves a laugh but holds her own on the track! She has completed 143 of her run in Bundaberg, 4 at @bargara parkrun and 4 at @bowral parkrun. Her PB is 34:33.... Karen has also volunteered 23 times as tail walker! Thanks Karen for your help and your enjoyment of parkrun!
04.01.2022 It is with great sadness that I officially announce the resignation of Melody Scott as Event Director and Event Ambassador with parkrun Australia. Melody was the driving force and founder of Bundaberg parkrun and has inspired, encouraged and motivated many of us to get out on a Saturday morning to participate in this Community Fitness activity. Mel loved to chat, laugh and give cheek to all and was a genuine leader who was always on call for the team of Run Directors and Vol...unteers that she worked with here and at other parkrun events. Mel says "My heart hasn’t been there for quite some time so in fairness to parkrun I have resigned from all duties. It’s now time for me and my family and to de-stress a bit. Thanks to all the peeps and my RD team along the way who’ve come n gone and made the experience more pleasurable." Bargara parkrun RD Phillip Dunkley is the new regional EA and acting ED for our event. Thanks Mel for all you've done for us here in Bundy and beyond. Please don't be a stranger and pop by occasionally when we restart just to say hi!! RD Matt Gees (: Cops N Robbers Day 2019 - an event Mel & Brendan started)

A20: I would love for more athletes (who have already finished their parkrun) to stay until everyone, even us at the end have crossed the finish line. . Q21: Is there anything that you think could improve parkrun in general? A21: As above. .... Q22: Who’s your parkrun inspiration and why? A22: Jim & Eve, as previously mentioned. They are both seniors who have numerous health challenges and also use 'wheelie walkers' for mobility. They are a vital part of the Champion Lakes parkrun team whose dedication & enthusiasm is inspiring. . Q23: Who, for you, typifies parkrun and why? A23: My friend Matt from Bundaberg parkrun. He was the person who encouraged me to give it a go. Matt started off by walking slowly around the route and gradually improved until he could jog the whole way. Now he is the Event Director at Bundaberg parkrun and continues to encourage everyone he meets. #loveparkrun #parkrunfamily #contra #dfyb #meningitus #parkrunforever #stroke #walkingatparkrun #sportforall #walking Is there a question you would like to ask Tanya? Please do so in the comments section.
02.01.2022 Just a reminder that even though restrictions are relaxed, parkrun Australia discourages running on courses on a Saturday at 7am, this is to protect the parkrun reputation. Whilst we can now run in groups of up to 10, ‘organised club runs’ and community events are still disallowed.
02.01.2022 **EDIT: please check comments for latest roster. We do not have 2nd scanner (can be done by a runner), timekeeper or a photographer for this weekend. With no timekeeper, everyone gets the same result :O Photos can be taken with a phone ;) Here is our roster for this week. Please put your name down to help out. Thank you.
02.01.2022 Please remember to check in to parkrun before or on the morning you are attending. You can scan the QR code when you get to parkrun or check in prior to using this link https://www.parkrun.com/trace/66p
02.01.2022 This is it! The first "official" parkrun eve since March! Please remember that some things are slightly different, so please follow these guidelines and enjoy being back!!
02.01.2022 Thanks to our Junior Volunteer Cormack for these photos!
01.01.2022 Today's volunteers! Thanks for helping out!!
01.01.2022 Hello fellow parkrunners. Hope everyone has been keeping well while we aren't able to meet; I miss you all!
