13.01.2022 It could be said that in 2020, Bundaberg State High School has produced the best-mixed hockey team to date to take the field winning six weeks of straight games to take out the Bundaberg District State School 2020 hockey title for a second year in a row. We had to dig deep for the last game as we agreed for Shalom to place all of their year 12 students in their team and it was only through Katie McCord's and Jack Munro's combined captaincies to keep us in the game. Matthew S...immons in the goal and his sister were outstanding in defence along with Hannah Munro, Tim Wales and Damon Pegg. One of our up and coming stars, Isaac Wales who will represent for Wide Bay hockey this year continued to keep putting in the goal box every game, scoring six goals in one game. The whole team played fairly and with sportsmanship. I feel very proud and privileged to have been a part of this team. Thanks for another great year Mr Gardiner

01.01.2022 This Winter Season saw 4 teams from Bundaberg State High battling it out for supremacy in Division 2. BSHS 2 Taylah Sim, Jorja Anderson, Charlotte Vaughan, and Hayley Tait did well to come 3rd/5 in Group A, just missing out on the Finals Day. They will be a force to reckon with in 2021. BSHS 4 Jade Stevens, Connor Hutchins and Brian Hodgkinson had some health issues, but won lots of games, coming 4th out of 5 in Group B. Continues practice on Tuesday’s and Thursdays will ...see them come up the ranking next year. BSHS 3 Dylan Wood, McCannon Orpin, Aidan Rule, with Connor Hutchins as the reserve came 2nd/5 in Group A. They have all improved considerably from the start of the season, playing long rallies in each game of the final, but were pipped at the end by Bundaberg Christian College. They then had to play off for 3rd and 4th place against Shalom, coming in just behind in the final score of 5-4. BSHS 1 Max Chen, Aida Peterson, Hayden Bridgeland, competed in all their rounds, and ended up 1st/5 in Group B. This meant they played Shalom in the semi-finals, beating them with good scores from all the games. BSHS 1 then had to face BCC in the finals. Again, plenty of long rallies later, the teams were neck and neck. Persistence and determination won in the end, with Bundy High taking home the Division 2 Shield. Thank you to all the players! You have made BSHS very proud in both skill and sportsmanship departments! Thanks also to Michael Bridgeland who helped me as a team manager during these Covid-19 times, and to Dave Delpratt, Bundaberg’s Table Tennis Legend, who organised the competition so well. Thanks also to the Bundaberg and District Table Tennis Centre for allowing us to use their facilities. Mrs Drury
