23.01.2022 IF YOU HAD ONE WISH, WHAT WOULD IT BE? What would you ask for? Would you ask for wealth or would you ask for health? What would you ask for? This may seem a superfluous question. However, there was a man who was asked this very question. In 1 Kings 3:5 we read, At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, ‘Ask! What shall I give you?’ I wonder, what did he asked for? It is interesting that Solomon did not ask for wealth, health or victory over h...is enemies. He could have asked for those things, but instead he asked for wisdoma wise and understand heart in order to lead the people of God in the ways of God (1 Kings 3:6-12). Solomon realised that wisdom was a precious commodity. In fact, Solomon said, Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom (Proverbs 4:7). When we become Christians, God asks us to walk wisely in the Lord. Of course, this involves our time (making the most of every God-given opportunity that comes our way), our thinking (understanding what God’s will is for our lives) and our testimony (reflecting a Spirit-filled life). When God has our time, our thinking and our testimony, our lives are usually filled with inspiring fellowship and worship and overwhelming gratitude and submission. May God get hold of our time, thinking and testimony so that we can walk wisely in the Lord! See more
20.01.2022 Finding Joy In Diverse Trials: During our lifetime, we will face many trials. Some of these trials will be straight forward, others will be very difficult and they will stretch us to the limit. However, the question remains, why trials? What’s the point of trials? Why does God allow these trials in our lives? In the Bible, we read of many people facing difficult trials. For example, Job faced an enormous trial when he lost his family, friends and finances. Joseph faced diffic...ult trials when his brothers sold him into Egypt and when Potiphar’s wife falsely accused him of inappropriate behaviour. Daniel faced a very difficult trial when the Babylonians took him into captivity in Nebuchadnezzar’s court. Why did God allow these trials to take place? What was the point of these trials? You know, these are often the questions we ask when we are going through a difficult time. However, God asks us to rejoice in diverse trials. How? How can we find joy when we are going through difficult times? Well, James gave us the answer. To find joy in diverse trials involves having the right attitude to trials. James asks us to evaluate trials from God’s perspective rather than from a worldly perspective. For example, when Joseph evaluated his situation, he could see that God was working in his life to save Israel and his family from starvation. Joseph saw the big picture and found joy in God. When we evaluate trials from a worldly perspective, we often get upset, become bitter and blame God and others. When we evaluate trials from God’s perspective, we will not only find joy but also we will discover the advantages of trials. Trials produce a stronger dynamic faith and a more complete or mature Christian. May we find joy in diverse trials and become a more complete and mature Christian! See more

17.01.2022 STOP DOUBTING, DO THIS INSTEAD! "Trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge HIM, and he shall direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). The Bible encourages us to so stop doubting and to trust God to direct our paths in the journey of life! - https://www.bundabergwestbaptists.com/where-is-god/
17.01.2022 THE BEST IS YET TO COME! "Let us be glad and rejoice and give HIM glory, for the marriage of the Lamb (Jesus) has come, and his wife (the church) has made herself ready. And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints" (Revelation 19:7-8). The Bridegroom (Jesus) will come for his Bride (the church). We refer to this as the rapture of the church (John 14:2-3). The Bridegroom will spend time with hi...s Bride. We refer to this as the marriage of the Lamb (Revelation 19:7-8). After the consummation of the marriage, the Bridegroom puts on a great celebration with invited guess (Revelation 19:9). What a celebration that will be! This is for every believer in Jesus Christ! YES! THE BEST IS YET TO COME! May we never lose sight of our eternal destiny! Heaven's glory with our Lord! See more

11.01.2022 GOD HOLD ALL THINGS TOGETHER: The sun, moon and stars reveal that the Master Designer is a God of order. Order is the rule of the universe. It ticks with the precision of an atomic clock and, indeed, it is a kind of timekeeper. We write tidal charts years in advance with the confidence that they will be accurate. We launch satellites, certain that they will rendezvous with distant planets at a precise moment, just as programmed (NASA’s Galileo probe travelled six years before... reaching Jupiter precisely as scheduled). The whole planet relies on the regularity of the sunrise and sunset. Without that set pattern, nothing would survive. The order observed in the universe is the result of physical laws that govern all things. We can study those laws through various sciences such as astronomy, biology, physics and chemistry. God established these physical laws to hold the universe together with astonishing precision. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together (Colossians 1:17). We often take these laws so much for granted that we never consider what the world would be like without them. Just imagine the chaos if we removed all the traffic lights, stop signs and speed limits from our city streets. When it comes to God’s creation, He has placed physical laws for a purpose. Laws define uncompromising boundaries. It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth (Psalm 74:17). We have a God who holds the fabric of the universe together. Let’s worship Him and walk with Him today!
11.01.2022 THANK GOD FOR ENCOURAGERS! Recently, I read the John Andersen story, Faith & Duty. John Andersen was the leader of the National Party and deputy Prime Minister of Australia for several years. What stood out to me as I read the book was the men who encouraged him in his political journey. At crucial times in his life, people got beside him and encouraged him to continue in politics because they could see that he had something to offer his country. In fact, if these people did ...not encourage him, I do not believe he would have reached the heights that he reached in his political life. As a Christian, John Andersen never found politics easy. I believe he was never a career politician. He entered politics because people believed he had something to offer his country. So at times he found it very difficult. Of course, John Andersen had his knockers. What I found disturbing was that his knockers never really knew him. John Andersen was a descent man, a man of integrity, a man who wanted only to do something for his country. And yet many people knocked him and criticised him and they never really knew him. All I can say is thank God for the encouragers. After reading the John Andersen story, I could see some parallels with Christianity. Christianity is not easy. Yes, we have our knocker too. There will always be people who criticise us and knock us. So we need people to encourage us to continue to do God’s will in our lives. The Thessalonians faced difficult times (2 Thessalonians 1:1-12). So Paul encouraged them in their faith. Yes, Paul could have found lots of negative things to say about the church at Thessalonica, but he didn’t. Instead, he encouraged them in the Lord. Thank God for encouragers! What would we do without them?
11.01.2022 THE ANSWER TO LIFE: "May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us. God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him" (Psalm 67:1-7).
