25.01.2022 What a great tool to help teach children essential life skills.

25.01.2022 Monday 10th August in Pingin We have had a busy indoor outdoor day in Pingin today. The children started with some time interacting with the older children in Ngarum, here they played in home corner, with the wooden blocks and outside on the obstacle course Miss Dee had set up. Moving into Pingin Cashton checked on our fish while Leon and Beau made a beeline to the sandpit. Meia explored the garden making sure the soil was moist by digging down with her fingers. Olive enjoyed a relax in the swing after morning tea and from there she watched Harley and Matis playing with the cars on the road mat. The children got creative as they practised their fine motor skills using the fine paint brushes to paint a picture using primary colours, we were teaching colour recognition as we painted outside on the easels.

23.01.2022 Ngarum Friday 26th June Today was a great relaxation day. After morning tea we had a discussion about fruit, we sung the 'fruit salad' song, talked about some of our favorite fruits, and matched colours to fruits. We then decided to create some fruit displays for our home corner.... We then focused on our literacy skills, we read 'Neon Leon', sung our ABC's and re-arranged the alphabet on flash cards.

23.01.2022 Your children love learning about Indigenous language and culture here at the centre so we thought we’d share this link to some reasonably priced books at a Kmart.

22.01.2022 Monday Bush Kindy An early morning tea was requested by the children so we found a comfy spot at the table. As they ate I show them how to do a leaf rubbing everyone was excited to have a try so we split into two teams and went searching for some interesting leaves!

21.01.2022 Last Thursday we celebrated as friends with stories, songs, dancing and the children's graduation ceremony. Thank you to all the families who attended, we hoped you enjoyed the show! Please enjoy the photos.

20.01.2022 VERY IMPORTANT. Dear Families, please read this post from Queensland Health that lists the places the three new COVID patients have visited since returning to Queensland last week. If you have been in any of these areas PLEASE quarantine immediately and call 13 HEALTH. These patients have been at one Brisbane school and After School Care Centre which have now closed and we do not want to see this happen to our centre, your family, our team and their families. Please stay vigilant. Wash your hands and your child's hands EVERY time you enter the centre. Sanitising alone DOES NOT kill the virus. Keep social distancing and stay home if you're unwell. This virus is not like the flu. It leaves patients with ongoing problems and we don't want to see that happen to any of our community. Take care and stay safe.

20.01.2022 Ngarum- Wednesday 4th November Busy Bee's today We started the day outdoors painting with spray bottles. 20.01.2022 17th of November Another terrific Tuesday today. It was so very hot we had a little play inside after yoga. We got busy making things in the playdough, building cubbies and imaginary worlds with the animals, cars and trucks. After we went outside for a short run around and for a bit of water play we helped wash Miss Micaela's bubbly baby dolls.

20.01.2022 Queenslanders have smashed the curve But we can’t get complacent and risk a second wave. Keep social distancing, keep up the hand hygiene and stay home if you...’re sick. #UniteAndRecover #covid19

17.01.2022 Tuesday 18th August in Pingin We have had a busy day in Pingin today, the children have been building sand castles, working on their balance as they walked and crawled the balance beam, we read about Hairy Maclary's bone, chased some bubbles, got creative as we drew on the chalk boards and sung danced to the nursery rhymes on the ipad, we checked on our garden seeing new flowers open each day is fun. All the children were interested in the fish and even gave them some food later in the morning, we laughed as they gobbled it up.

17.01.2022 Friday 08.02.21 This morning children were lucky enough to enjoy an active play in the yard before excitedly heading upstairs, as this morning they were in store for an activity they have been expressing much excitement and interest in. Show and tell. Gerias were able to practice selective decision making in determining which toy or object they feel is currently most special to them. This communicative experience went for quite some time, and children were able to skilfully ...focus their attention to their friends throughout their presentations. Children effectively developed questions to ask those sharing their special item. Where did it come from, what do you like about it, and who gave it to you, just to name a few. On concluding show and tell there was still time for a brief guided play and children chose between a creative, a STEM, and a problem solving or critical thinking activity. These were play-dough, trains and train track building, and dinosaur puzzles.

17.01.2022 Here's a great hand washing video by Paw Patrol to watch with your children.

17.01.2022 Ngarum- Wednesday 16th December 9 Days until Christmas ! 16.01.2022 HYGIENE UPDATE - We have just invested in a new sanitising machine that will literally wipe out all germs and bugs in the centre through a patented fogging system. The product is natural and eco-friendly, and not harmful in any way. It can even be used in food prep areas it's that safe. Check out the video below to see how we're staying one step ahead of germs to help keep your children healthy. This sanitisation will happen at the end of every day so the centre is clean and fresh for the next day. https://sanitizeguyz.com.au/

13.01.2022 A stunning day at bush kindy, we jumped, climbed slid and crawled. Over and under the trees and boulders. We spotted some bugs, some fish and a crab. We experimented to see what happened when we threw rocks, sticks and leaves, we found that some of the sticks floated and moved towards the ocean. We looked at a sign, shared our ideas before we learnt about the pictures meant.

07.01.2022 Children are always developing and sometimes it's difficult to keep up with their changes to parent in the right way for their age and development stage. The Oxenford/Coomera Community and Youth Centre has some great FREE courses to help you understand your child's emotional needs so that you can help them grow to be confident individuals with a positive identity. There are some great life skills programs for adults too. Check out their programs schedule here. https://youthcentre.org.au/courses/
